Hey Guys
I'm new to the Sega Saturn scene (Yes I know a bit late) but I've been focused more on the Sega Dreamcast (hence my name).
I've just picked up myself a Netlink adapter which made me sign up to this form, I've not even got a Saturn console yet, yes I know I'm doing it in a wrong order but hey it got me to sign up here.
So I've been a gamer for many years way back to the Amstrad CPC 464 and I've stopped at the Xbox 360, I've been collecting Sega items/consoles for many years now but sadly missed out on a Saturn growing up now I'm looking to pick up one.
I used to run a successful clan/community called UKRockers which ran for 10 years (a little Internet search for them will tell you more) I spent most of my online gaming on the Dreamcast but always wondered about the Saturn, so now I'm gonna pick one up as the games at the moment aren't too pricey just yet to build up a little collection.
I look forward to spending time in this community and talking everything Sega Saturn

Hey welcome - I'm actually looking for a Dreamcast atm just to play shmups! - Sega Saturn is a mega-epic-awesome-console - you'll get lots of great guys here all as loyal and obsessed as me. There's so much available for it I'd love to go back to the late 90's with the knowledge I have now and start collecting from scratch.
We only had one lad in my high school who had the Amstrad CPC464 (with a colour monitor - swish) - he was the rich kid whose dad worked on oil rigs lulz who always got the best of everything, and going to his house to play Ikari Warriors was an experience I remember very clearly - he was also the first and only kid to get a Master System - everyone else were in the Speccy or C64 clicks - I managed to be in both!

Greetings, It's almost unbelievable you have not bothered with Saturn until now as the DNA of the late 1980's and early 1990's was all about porting arcade machines over to home computers, consoles and hand held's! It was the food for most machines and many were sold because of it. Saturn continued with Sega's arcade heritage from Daytona USA, Sega Rally, Virtua Fighter & even OutRun (1986) to name a few. Sega Rally 2 & Virtua Fighter 3 were the first games made for Dreamcast, not forgetting that Sucd Race Rolling Demo... Better late the never I guess. Also available on Sega Saturn under the Sega AGES label.

Regardless, welcome to SSUK! I'm sure you'll feel right at home here

Thank you for all the replies it's nice to be welcomed, it's not that I didn't bother with the Saturn but if you were like me being a 80's baby with two brothers you didn't always get what you wanted, as there was a Mega Drive, N64 in the household plus all the other consoles and handhelds it was more of a case of my parents not being able to afford the Sega Saturn price tag whilst paying £40-£50 per game. So I did what any person who wanted a Sega Saturn would do and that's buy all the Sega PC ports of the games, with those I had TCP/IP support to play online so I didn't miss out on those arcade titles, like wise I've never missed out on those arcades titles as I had them for the Amstrad CPC 464 (images can be found on my Instagram quick search for ItsMuchMore will find them) Over the years I've brought back some old consoles that I've sold like an Atari Jaguar & Lynx but as if you guys have ever been in the same boat sometimes you need a bit of extra cash and sadly it's normally the valueable gaming consoles / games that have to be parted with. Found out my Saturn Netlink has arrived so I will be having a look at that tonight might upload some photos too Apologies if I'm barking up the wrong tree, as it were, but are the same DCUK from 'Jaguar Sector II'...? Regardless, welcome to SSUK! I'm sure you'll feel right at home here Hi NeoGeoNinja (Cool name by the way), unsure it might have been me as I visited a number of Atari Jaguar forums when I repurchased the console looking to see how big the UK community was and I was interested in going to a Jagfest, I use many forums like OnlineConsoles etc so it could have been me 🙂 Hopefully it was all good things that were mentioned if it wasn't me.

So your not as old as I was led to believe which explains a thing or three. While still young in the 1980's you were lucky to of had the pleasure of 8bit home computing, you would of played way more games than kids with say a Gameboy and 2-3 cartridges. I'm a kid of the dark ages, the 1970's when it was better to play outside rather than sit at home with books, jigsaw puzzles, lego and matchbox toy cars lol. Come the 1980's it was like living in Disney Land with computers and electronic games coming of age. Other than Star Wars I guess the first 10 years were very black'n white, I 46 next month... Nice to see your into a bit of everything, including Atari Lynx. Love that machine and often lose hours and sometimes days playing it. Fav game..., might be Slime World but love many more from Road Blasters to Joust and beyond.

Yeah the 8bit home computers loved them, just got myself a Scart cable to play my Amstrad on a modem TV in colour as I've never seen these games in colour as only had a Green Screen Amstrad so it will be great to play Outrun, Altered Beast and Wonderboy. So anyway I could talk about Retro games and consoles for ages, so back to the Saturn looking forward to picking up a NTSC Saturn soon, as wanna use th Netlink Adapter

Plenty of Dreamcast love here, and there are quite a few oldies too - myself included in both of those groups.
