What's up everyone, how are you guys doing?
It's been a crazy year for me, got a new job in the end of last year that was absolutely crazy and had me do overtime pretty much daily for being the only designer there in a company that makes monthly magazines, it was nuts. Left there in the beggining of this year and started buying and selling retro consoles here in Brazil on Mercado Livre (our eBay of some sorts) and started a new job 4 months ago again as the only Designer and Marketing guy in a company that have a few stores that sell chair and tables for offices here in Rio.
Mix all that up with college where I'm finally almost graduating and had to do my final project in the last 6 months and on top of that all the bullshit legal battles that have been going on between my wife family because of a house she inherited from her uncle and you got a recipe for a pretty crazy (and slightly shitty) year.
But hopefully it'll all get sorted soon and I can finally relax again. But yeah, how you guys have been? I was missing here, hope I can start to participate a little more from now on.

And god damn, Shinobi 3 music is so awesome! The Mega Drive sound chip wasn't top notch, but when the developers knew how to use it to the fullest, magic things happened! Ahhhhhhh!! Sounds like it was a wild ride! Honestly, I thought you got shot or hit by a car or somethin'. Haha!! Hey it's nice to have you back! Welcome back man! Well, living in Rio de Janeiro, being shot eventually is pretty much a given, no wonder you were worried. hahaha Thanks man, It's good to be back.

Oi tudo bom?
Nice to see a member from Rio, don't think we spoken much before.
Have you been to any Olympic events? I went to a few in August, really enjoyed it. That's not quite as adventurous as it sounds, my wife's family live there and they organised it all hehe.
Where do you even buy video games in Rio? Can't say I've ever seen a game store, let alone for Retro stuff.

Yeah, I was lucky enough to see Bolt on the 200m live with my wife, it was absolutely amazing, that guy is a legend. Oh man, buying retro games here is a god damn chore, there's a few retro stores that I know but they all overprice their stuff, the best way to buy retro games here is with OLX, I'm not sure this service is international, it's some kind of craigslist, I'm aways checking there to see if there's anything worthwhile: rj.olx.com.br/videogamesR$3,2 = US$1 if your interested to know the prices. There's also a few flea markets here and there where you can find some good stuff, but all the really rare stuff you have to import. It's a good place to buy Master System and Mega Drive consoles tho, Tectoy still distribute them to this day. Got one of those bad boys last year and it's a really cool Mega Drive/Genesis version, it comes with 100 games on memory, you can put more on a SD card and it has a knockoff Guitar Hero game which is pretty cool, it has some brazilian rock bands songs in it: mlb-d2-p.mlstatic.com/mega-drive-4-guitar-idol-87-jogos-video-game-510811-MLB20641953374_032016-F.jpg?square=false

It was great to see Rio alive with the Olympic events. Second only to carnaval obviously! That Guitar Hero kit looks very cool. I'm a bit out of touch with BR music these days, but I do like Skank a lot. Don't know if they're still going?

Oh man, Carnaval here is really gret if you like to party, since I'm pretty much a party-o-phobic, I stay as far away from Rio as I can during Carnaval. hahaha To be honest with you, I'm also out of touch with Brazilian music lately, because since I mostly listen to rock, indie and other similar genres, there's not much to listen around here from local bands. If I'm not mistaken Skank is still doing shows, but I don't think they put up a new album for the last 6 years or so, and their latest music wasn't really my cup of tea. But if you like rock like I do, specially hardcore, I'd recomend listening to this brazilian band, these guys are really good: Welcome back man! Happy to have ya back! How was your final year? Did you aced it? Man, I did my final project, it was hectic but I did great, too bad the project itself went nowhere. Thanks man, good to see you around aswell!

My last year was crazy busy. Lots of work seeing as I put in too much time into my final project (me and 3 friends spent about 2x the recommended time on it). We designed a roller coaster ( i took civil engineering) and ended up placing 3rd in Canada for 4th year design projects which was pretty cool!

Do you have any images online of your project? I'd like to take a loot, seems pretty badass.

Hey Tatsumaru, welcome back. Life can get pretty crazy. I don't have much time these days (Two kids, a job and a wife will do that to ya) and what little I do have, I invest into reviews which is why this year has been pretty sparse with content. And why I haven't been on here much in that time except to post my reviews when I get them done.

Oh man, I can barely imagine how hectic life must be after you have kids, the fact that you still have time for other hobbies is a miracle itself. haha I hope I can have kids with my wife someday, but I'd like to be living someplace else before that, we don't want to raise a child here in Rio, it's not ideal.
