Just bought 4 games:
Blazing Dragons Highway 2000 Norse by Norsewest: The Return of The Lost Vikings Shanghai: Triple Threat
Just looked on satakore.com at the US version of Highway 2000, any reason why it is so rare?

Finally got back to the store to get Batman Forever: The Arcade Game for the same price of $17.99, but I was also able to pick up two more games at low prices! I got Daytona USA for $6.99 and Need For Speed for only $4!

I'm not sure if you want Japanese themed games only, but I bought the Japanese version of Myst a couple of months ago, and it is completely in Japanese (obviously). It's both dubbed and has all text re-written in Japanese, without having to worry about text scroll speeds. I guess it would be good if you wanted to play the game in English first then play the Japanese version, so you'd have a sort of familiar atmosphere as you are learning and know what is going on. Then again, that is if you haven't already played Myst in English yet, which I highly recommend. The first Darkseed would be good as well, with voice acting in English and text in Japanese.

I know I'm kind of late here, but did you try cleaning the lens on the old laser before you replaced it? It is a pretty easy thing to overlook. I had a problem with my laser recently that gave all the signs of it seeming like it needed to be replaced. However, it seemed like a light layer of dust had settled on the lens causing all games to be non-readable. I used a q-tip dabbed with some cleaning alcohol to lightly brush over the lens, and the problem was solved.

Just bought Romance of the Three Kingdoms IV: Wall of Fire for $14.99 and Midway presents Arcade's Greatest hits: The Atari Collection 1 for $7.99 from my local retro toy store. They also had a copy of Batman Forever: The Arcade Game for $17.99, but I didn't have enough money to get it, plus I think that price is pretty steep. If I get there again next week I'll have to get it when I have the money. ;D

Just ordered Die Hard Trilogy off of Amazon. I got the Playstation version about a month ago and have been meaning to get my hands on the Saturn version.

i always thought that art looks better if you print it on elastic, and then distort it so it looks shit. That's the one thing I didn't mention however. ;D It's an option that I use very sparingly, because it can quickly become a mess of pixels. Besides, my TV does have an option to play in 4:3, so why bother with widescreen when you can play it in the correct ratio it was meant for?

Doom and Hexen have big fat borders on the left and right side of the screen when I play it on my widescreen TV. I guess they were just trying to use less space so it would be less taxing on the system. Luckily my TV has an option to stretch the screen out vertically and horizontally, so I can hide these borders pretty easily if I want to. ;D

All Japan Pro Wrestling Featuring Virtua was my first import too (along with Destruction Derby). If you like other wrestling games, I suggest you check out Fire Prowrestling S also on the Saturn. A 2D wrestling game with a whole bunch of well known Japanese and American wrestlers. I've been playing it a lot recently, I highly recommend it.

Sorry to go on and bore you all, but the topic of censorship is definitely key to understanding why certain games never reached the Saturn! Video game censorship has always been a topic that has interested me. I always found it interesting how Mortal Kombat 2 was handled in Japan. The Super Famicom port was censored with green blood and the screen turning black and white for fatalities. Also how MK2 was the only game given Sega of Japan's X-rating for only violence, whereas the label was used mostly for nudity. Did Sega's censorship also play a part in the Saturn versions of Ultimate Mortal Kombat 3 and Mortal Kombat Trilogy never being released in Japan?

My copy of PAL Myst arrived in the mail today. Go figure, I thought the game was going to be dubbed in several other languages than English (Like the JP version), but it is only subtitled. I should have figured that the Saturn wouldn't have put 4 copies of the same video on one disc with the only change being a different language. It's still an enjoyable game however, runs just fine on an NTSC setup, and has cleared up most if any questions I have about different languages being an issue when I get more PAL games.

It seems that you are correct. I just tried three other games and they all had the same symptoms. I'm going to try and clean the lens itself first, as it seems like a light layer of dust has accumulated in the console. If that doesn't work, then I'm going to have to open it up. The only thing is, if tightening the voltage screw won't work forever, does that mean I'm going to have to replace the whole lens mechanism, or will I have to buy a new Saturn? Edit: Problem solved. It seems like I needed to clean the lens, as a light layer of dust had accumulated on it. Now all the games work just fine.

So last night I wanted to fire up Zen Nihon Pro Wrestling Featuring Virtua, but for some reason, my Saturn refused to read the game. When I started the system up, the game spun around for a few seconds, and stopped spinning. I thought maybe my Action Replay wasn't in correctly, so I took it out and fired up the game without the cart to see if the system was picking up if there was a disc in it. It wasn't, as the message on the CD player screen said "tray empty". However, when I put in any other game, it worked just fine, with no issue at all, including other JP games. I tried to clean the disc with a lint free cleaning cloth, but to no avail, this game wasn't going to work.
Now, a day later, I put the disc back in, and it works with no problem.
Can anyone diagnose the problem for me? Is my Saturn's laser slowly dying? Is the disc scratched in a certain way? Or do I have an Oni hiding in my Saturn?
Edit: just tried to play the game again, and it isn't working. Can someone please help me?

Now I own the American, Japanese, and PAL versions of Myst! Why?... Because I'm a collector, interested in different languages, and Myst is just that awesome that I need multiple versions of it. ;D

Just bought Fire Prowrestling S: 6men Scramble. Getting wrestling games is what got me into the import scene in the first place.
