Hello guys,
Just want to build up a little collection of games that really haven't aged over the years. Ones that are still incredible to play.
From my collection I would say:
Super Puzzle fighter 2 turbo Panzer dragoon saga Shining force 3 Street fighter collection Sega rally
Games that I used to love playing, such as SWWS 97 and 98 really don't hold up these days compared to the modern football games. I used to love NHL 97 but again, technically great at the time it just isn't the same these days. Daytona USA really hasn't aged well, although I loved it as a kid it really was quite a rough port.
So if you can reccomend me several games that are still incredible to play so I can hunt them down. I always liked the look of Guardian Heroes but never found it in shops. I still find games like Duke Nuken 3D fun, but they are easy to play on PC which really was a superior version, although at the time on the Saturn it was incredible.
Let me know your top few games.

Baku Baku and Puzzle Fighter are great calls.
Also:
Athlete Kings Tempest 2000 Pro Pinball : The Web Saturn Bomberman
Practically anything that uses 2D graphics - shmups being particularly good. The Capcom fighters too.
Are you looking at PAL only releases or imports?

I have chipped my Saturn and got a ram cart so I am looking for quality imports too. Good suggestions so far thanks!

A good game's a good game really. Most of the classics are still just as fun today. Look for the top 20 Saturn games on the main website (easiest to Google it). In addition to those above Radiant Silvergun and Soukyugurentai both look really nice still I'd say. Daytona USA looks rough, but then again it did in 1995. It still plays really well.
FMV heavy (had a look at Double Switch a while back, LOL!) and the point and click type games (Frankenstein) have possibly aged the worst. Obviously they have a niche nostalgic appeal to some. That and the early 3D sports games like Actua Soccer and the EA titles are pretty awkward now.

Saturn has the advantage of a lot of it's best games being 2D (despite SEGA of America pushing for 3D) in an era where no one had fully mastered 3D yet resulting in some janky games that have dated themselves a bit. Generally the shmups and puzzle games hold up very well. Saturn Bomberman has aged particularly well, still considered by many to be the best in the series. A lot of fighting games on the system now have more modern and more polished sequels, but Vampire Savior is still the most recent game in that series and it still holds up as a great fighter. If you want a solid platformer, Mega Man X4 still holds up as one of the best games in the Mega Man series, fantastic controls, incredibly fast-paced and two very different characters to play as. You might want to get the Japanese version though to dodge the atrocious English dub though, which has NOT aged gracefully. Also, I've only just started playing it, but I'll also vouch for Exhumed. The console version is actually very different to the PC version and it's actually considered a superior game on consoles from what I've heard (PC version has less of the Metroidvania elements). The Saturn version is also considered a little better than the PS1 port.
Also, this one might be a bit more debatable, but I've always felt that NiGHTS into dreams still holds up very well primarily just for how unique it is. You could argue that it's aged poorly, but there isn't really any modern games even remotely similar to it to compare it to, so there isn't really a game that's done NiGHTS better since (most people favor NiGHTS into dreams over it's Wii sequel, Journey of Dreams, but some may still debate that).

Nights is definitely still a great game to play and undoubtedly pretty still.
The HD remake looks better but doesn't quite feel right, I find it lacks something in the "swooshiness" of the controls.

Arcade ports always hold up. Especially fighters. They still make plenty of 2D fighters today. If you want a good list of this topic segalordx on youtube just started his channel this past year has some good information regarding games that hold up.

You can spend a lot of money if you are buying originals - especially on shmups and some fighters. But if you aren't collecting there are other ways of playing these.
I own and play these and they are all excellent but vary in price:-
shmups
Layer Section Parodius Deluxe Pack Oshaberi Parodius Sexy Parodius Gradius Deluxe Pack Salamander Deluxe Pack Radiant Silvergun Soukyugarentai Game Tengoku : The Game Paradise
fighters
xmen v streetfighter (needs 4MB ram pack) MSH v Capcom (ditto) SF ALpha 2 Night Warriors:Darkstalkers Revenge

Nevermind did mention SF collection, but i feel like i need to highlight Street Fighter Alpha 2 specifically.
Visually is great and the game doesn't require any kind of RAM expansion. Gameplaywise, having played thousands of hours in the Street Fighter franchise, i can assure you that Alpha series is still the most complex in the whole SF universe. Footsies, execution and mindgames - the game is fun to play at a scrub level, but it's when you move on to the pro scene that you fall in love with it.
As for SF2, well, i always liked it a little bit better than SF3. The overall presentation is better and the announcer too. Sure, it doesn't have the "world warrior" mode, but that's not very important for me. SF2, great game.

Dark Savior and Story of Thor 2 are still pretty good. I -love- Dark Savior. The characters and their big futuristic 80's hair. The beautiful bright colors and 80's synths. The difficult and satisfying platforming. The terrible combat and even the minecart level. Holy shit, that minecart level. So cheap. So-so cheap. Does it really hold up though? I think the controls would probably feel clunky to our sensibilities. I think Mr. Bones really holds up. You could port it to Steam or phones and no one would know it was designed 20+ years ago.

Actually, i think it's preciselly the combat that makes it shine. It's pretty much a platforming game with 2D fighting

Most of these have been said:
Street Fighter Alpha 2 Layer Section Sega Rally All three Panzer Dragoons Dragon Force Story of Thor Virtual On
As others point out, the 2D fighting games and Shmups haven't aged in any way that affects their gameplay.
For any 3D game, I would say this depends on your ability to 'look past' their datedness.
The ones on my list are still incredible to play, even though their graphics now lack the wow factor they had in the 90s.
I also enjoy other games that have not aged well e.g. Nights, WipEout.
I can't handle many 3D adventure games (Resi, Tomb Raider, Burning Rangers), driving games (Daytona) or sports games (which were all shite even back then).
