Yeah I looked at Gamefaqs and it was rubbish. There are two FAQs and one is the same as the other, but with better formatting. Literally the same too, word for word.... Anyway, it says take a running jump - which isn't possible due to the extra height.
This afternoon I unlocked the final spirit and it allows me to float, so that will solve the solution no doubt. I guess I'll try it out tomorrow!

I need to replay Dark Saviour but replaying again and again to see slightly different scenarios got a bit repetitive and I felt it slightly cheapened the way they tried to make a very short action game into a lengthy one.. but that was years ago maybe my attitude will change.
I quite like Story of Thor 2/L o Oasis 2 but the music was pretty sparse and I got stuck somewhere in the middle of the game after taking a break from it I honestly had no idea where I was at in the game so gave up. It's somewhat lengthy and I guess it depends on your patience whether you can complete it.
hmmmmm your call.

Looks like Legend of Oasis/Story of Thor 2 has caught up with Dark Savior. I go back and fourth with this poll and still can't decide which game I prefer. I originally picked Dark Savior but having got further into Story of Thor I might be swayed. It's very good.

Sorry for unburying this thread, but seeing this being stuck at 7 to 7 votes was just too tempting. I gave my voice to DS, which is one of my all time favourite games. It's like many have stated: A little unfinished, a little wonky here and there, a little light on the battle system and overall somewhat of a mixed bag. However, there's a one big enough reason for me to eternally be in love with this game: It's got a ton of character. The music, the presentation, the slightly rough dialogue, the story, the character, it's just so special. Also, I just love 2D - 3D-mixed games for some reason. There's a hell of a great Let's Play by my favourite YouTuber: www.youtube.com/watch?v=UuGEnYyPKOsIt made me fall in love with it all over again. The Saturn is probably my favourite gaming console and DS has got a lot to do with it. That being said, Story of Thor 2 is a damn fine game in its own right. It's up there with my favourite 10 or so Saturn games, so this was not an easy decision. I never completed it, though. I always lost interest somewhere around the midpoint, but I still like the game a lot. I'm actually trying to beat it this time, just started another run through (after a dying Saturn battery and no save game backup), so let's see how that goes. Also: Hi! Just registered here. Looking forward to spending time with you fine folks here!

Looking forward to spending time with you fine folks here! Hey Stucky welcome to SS Forums. Great to get your opinion on these two Saturn giants. I actually did quite a few polls back in the day. Feel free to add your opinion and vote on those if you like. The occasional bump of threads can sometimes promote more traffic & conversation on the forum and gives others that might have missed it first time round the chance to participate so it's all good. Look forward to reading more of your future posts.

Story of Oasis 2 is really long and has a ton of parts in each level that you can only get back to later on; if you take a break at any time during a playthrough, you'll forget those parts and you'll get stuck so badly that you'll need to re-visit absolutely everything - might as well start an entirely new game. I'm not sure if I ever finished the game due to that, I remember I got pretty far but got stuck somewhere.
Dark Savior is a game I'd love to play but every time I give it a try I'm completely put off by the terrible controls.

This was a tough call, the reason I first bought a Saturn over a year ago was Legend of Oasis. I absolutely loved Beyond Oasis on Genesis, and finding out there was another game in the series I had to play it. Similarly, I used to play Landstalker plenty and didn't realize Dark Savior was a spiritual successor until diving into it.
Legend Of Oasis- It is a beautiful game to look at, and I love that it retained most of what made the Genesis title great. The game can be very cryptic at times which is frustrating. Didn't feel like it improved on the original a ton, but was still a very enjoyable title.
Dark Savior- The graphics were nothing special I thought, but the art style was cool. The different stories told through the Parallels was a great way to bring the tale together albeit a little confusing at times. The mine cart sections were a huge pain but nothing compared to finishing the 5th Parallel. I hear most folks saying the fighting sections were simple, but to finish the game I kept finding new techniques to beat each opponent I hadn't used before.
I voted for Dark Savior because I thought it was a more unique experience overall.

I enjoyed both, but I like Dark Saviour that little more and is also really shows off nice 3D graphics with next to no pop up. Very impressive for an early 1996 game. 3D pad is a must for this game too

I also would pick Dark Savior. Story of Thor 2 just didn't click with me.
