I've decided to go more into some excellent imports this week. So here we have 3 strong Saturn beat 'em' ups so which will it be: Dungeons & Dragons Collection, Nekketsu Oyako OR Tenchi wo Kurau 2. Pick one and explain your reasons why below in the comments. Remember if you haven't played any of them you can still vote for the one that appeals to you most by watching the video clips provided below. TENCHI WO KURAU 2NEKKETSU OYAKODUNGEONS & DRAGONS COLLECTION

It's an easy one this...
D&D collection... looks nice, solid controls and the gameplay is g.......NOW LOADING.....ood. Scratch that! The loading times, and esp the mid level loading make this a staccato experience that is far from fun.... worst of the 3 by miles.
Tenchi..... I like this game a lot, just got it a few days ago, great arcade beat'em''up. Good graphics, controls and gameplay and little slowdown. Capcom put a lot of effort into this port...my fave of the three.
Nekketsu..... the only one of the 3 I don't own. Brilliant title this one, and a little offbeat, years since I played it, gonna be a purchase soon if I can snag it for under £60, which is doable.
Edit: after getting Nekketsu, it wasn't as good as I remberered it, a good game, but not a patch on tenchi.

I managed to get the Nekketsu for £60 earlier this year, and I consider myself lucky. The game typically goes for around £80 these days. Not worth it, but since I like the genre I'm willing to stretch myself further than I would otherwise. The game is very much an entry level brawler which might be to certain gamers tastes, but a little on the short side as far as I'm concerned. D+D is a much more deep and complex game, which I'm still trying to figure out to this day. It pretty much has near infinite replay value. D+D along with PDS and MKR are the Saturn games I'd most likely never part with.

D&D collection looks quite superb but it also looks like it was a step too far on Saturn. All that loading - even with the 4MB cartridge. Such a shame.

D&D collection looks quite superb but it also looks like it was a step too far on Saturn. All that loading - even with the 4MB cartridge. Such a shame. I really don't think it was a step too far. There really isn't that much loading in D & D and the loading doesn't last long in comparison to most Saturn games. However because it has Beat 'em' up with RPG elements there is a bit of text pertaining to the story which can feel like a bit of a grafting affair. But the loading doesn't detract from the enjoyment at all. Techni Wo Karu 2 is my choice of the 3. Too much slowdown in Nekketsu Oyako for me to fully enjoy it. Having said that I think out of the 3 games, it has the best length. It's long enough to get satisfactory play from and it doesn't over stay it's welcome either. D & D Collection are amazing games, especially Shadow over Mystara but the unlimited continues in both games spoils the gameplay for me as you loose the incentive to fight smartly which then promotes reckless play as there are no high stakes. The multiple routes and the item collections are nice touches but Techni wo Karu 2 just hit's the spot everytime for me. D & D Collection is by far the better game though.

Fair enough. Seeing it load mid-level in that video was offputting - but I suppose the load didn't last that long.
I like the look of this genre but I have never really got into it. The only scrolling fighter I ever spent any time with was Altered Beast. Played a bit of Golden Axe as well but I just end up mashing and give up. Didn't vote.
