Layer section 2 , just no... I have raystorm on ps1, and I never liked it, the ps1 was more suited to this port as well. it's, well, just everything is a bit meh.
Night Striker S is ok, I prefer space harrier if I'm honest, it's space harrier in a car. I will have it in my collection at some point, but it's not an essential.
strikers 1945 is a great port on the Saturn, spot on. It's the port to play... I love it.

Night Striker S all the way for me. Its so unique and the music is to die for. Its one of those shumps I can easily pick up and get into and finish within an hour. It has no additional features that I'm aware of but yet the gameplay experience is so strong that I keep coming back. More people should own this beauty.

I agree about Night Striker. Game play is fine, very like Afterburner or Space Harrier, but the style and music are so cool.

Layer Section 2 All day long. (sorry Marc).
I adore LS2 and have played it for years without getting bored with it.

Strikers 1945 kinda old skool feel but pretty much a great shooter game with crazy bosses.

I've never seen Night Striker S. At first I thought, "Huh, cheesy Space Harrier clone." But after watching for a little while it looks rather compelling. I'll have to play it sometime. Definitely the best out of the three, imo.

With respect, how can you say 'definitely the best out of the three' without having played all of them?

With respect, how can you say 'definitely the best out of the three' without having played all of them? I've played the other two and I thought they weren't very good. Just by looking I can tell it's the best out of the three. I've been playing games for a long time now and I've played a lot of different genres. So when I see gameplay of a certain genre I've played before I can imagine the fun I would be having with it and recognize it as a fun game. I don't buy into the idea that you need to play a game to tell if it would be fun or if you'd like it or not. Sure maybe Total War or Cities Skylines you can't tell since they're -so- nuanced, but a Space Harrier clone? Yeah, I can tell if I'd like it or not by watching 10-15 minutes of gameplay footage.

Strikers 1945 gets my vote. I like the other two games although I haven't spent a lot of time on Nights Striker S. Strikers 1945 is my favorite shmup. It may be my favorite Saturn game. It is my perfect game.

Not as bad as In the Hunt but pretty annoying.

I WENT WITH STRIKERS 1945...
My fave of the 3. I can't really compare with Night Striker S though - completely different type of game.
But LS2, the Saturn port is complete garbage. the PS1 version (Raystorm) completely annihilates it - in both performance and price! Even so, 1945 is still my preference > Raystorm which is a game I actually happen to like (more than Layer Section 1, if I'm honest).
