Never seen or heard of TCL here in Europe sadly! hmmm.. The ones we get from them are Roku smart TVs. Looks like you guys get Android. www.tcl.eu/en/Different models it looks like. I imagine some will yield similar results?

Possibly, only way to know for sure would be to test it though.

I have my Saturn, Mega Drive, Dreamcast and N64 hooked up to a 20" Sharp CRT. It's much better than hooking the consoles up to my Sony HD LCD TV but I'm searching for a CRT with component inputs so I can get a better image quality. Almost brought a PVM before Christmas, but it was only 14" and I want at least a 20". This will be hard given most around here are no bigger than 14" and anything bigger is astronomically priced. Plus the glass of the PVM had a chip in it.

There's no voting option for me, and probably a large chunk of the casual retro gaming world- console direct to modern flatscreen TV.
I use a RGB Scart connection directly to my LG OLED TV. The picture, after a little calibration with the TV's own options, is very good with no real lag issues for most games.
I've owned and used an OSSC before and it worked nicely, with a lovely bright and clear image. I can recommend it. But I sold it as it didn't make enough difference with my TV for me, and because of my current setup it meant I had to plug in the audio cables and fiddle with the OSSC's switches every I wanted to use it. Yes I'm a bit lazy, I admit.
Perhaps the new HDMI with onboard digital audio model will be of interest at some point.
Ps. Don't bother with a cheap upscaler device, they will introduce heinous lag.

Just curious what others use. I'm currently on a 25" Trinitron, and I'm really torn between what I want to do next. I need to save space, so my options are: drop to a 19" Trinitron, buy a PVM (like gold dust in the UK) or get an upscaler. I'm going to wait til summer before I actually buy anything though, so I have time. Interested to hear your point of view. I don't own a pvm, but I want to. I've been told that it's like a new technique entirely and once you go that route you can never go back. I own a sony trinitron 24inch right now, which looks excellent. I will never go back to hdtv's for my retro systems other than dreamcast or other hd consoles.

barryburton May I ask what Oled TV you use? I am also thinking of getting on Oled TV in the middle of the year (maybe). Would be interested in getting an 55 Oled B7 or C7 because they are supposed to work very well with my future OSSC. If the price of the old 2017 drops enough when they new 2018 Gereration of Oleds is available I will maybe get one. So I am very interested how well a Saturn works on the latest OLED TVS

I wouldn't mind a PVM (or BVM) , as it genuinely looks great, though the main issue for me (besides the price) is that most of the sets available seem to be small 9inch or 14 inch screens, there are 17 or 20inch screens which are better but they tend to be more expensive, and understandably no one is willing to ship them (and I can't find one more locally) I think there were also professional CRTs from JVC , though Im not sure how good or bad they are in comparison

It is this one, bought in early 2016. HD not 4K. www.lg.com/uk/tvs/lg-55EC930VAs I said before it worked perfectly with the OSSC + Saturn. Plug and play. It also does a very good job with SCART directly to the TV, though not quite as sharp and vivid as the OSSC.

There needs to be more options there.
Im using a commercial grade CRT video projector, but there should also be options for the XM series NECs.
