Hi all,
I just started looking for a Saturn in the UK as I always wanted one as a kid, i've had a look on ebay but allot of them are described as modded and or notes about 50/60hz.
What setup should I look for, I will be gaming on a 4K 60" TV and possibly streaming?
I'd like to get the Panzer Dragoon and Virtua Cop games and light gun, are there any particularly good RPG games to look for or just very good games in general?

Saturn consoles are somewhat hard to find these days. If you find a working unit you easly pay 120 euros. Saturn games on the cheap is also not easy, There are some great games out there. Best get a orginal pal model 1 Saturn with a good working cd drive and power supply. If you want to play imports use a Action Reply card. Japanese games are easy and cheap to find. For pal Games go for the cheaper ones lile Tomb Raider or Daytona USA. Video autput use a full RGB scart cable for your Saturn. If your TV has No scart imput buy a DVD recorder with HDMI out or a Scart to Hdmi converter.

Imports will run at the wrong speed doing this
Really no point wasting money on options like this when solutions like Rad2x exist.

Okay cool so no point in light gun games and look for a regular UK/Pal console, are all 60hz mods created equal, will they create any problems with any games/hardware?
Is there any credible lists of good games you could recommend?

Some HDTVs do struggle with the off-spec 60hz that a PAL console outputs when modded like that. It's fairly rare but if your set is one of the less tolerant ones you can get stutter or worse still torn frames.
To avoid that you could just go for a true NTSC console instead, if you have the budget. There aren't really any PAL exclusives most people would be interested in these days.
Not all 60hz mods are the same, some use a physical switch at the back of the console (which means a case mod), more modern ones use the reset switch instead (short press to reset, press and hold to change 50/60hz).
Games lists the internet is full of these, just Google it.
