I was recently actively seeking a copy of Choro Q Park Satakore. This game is quite rare, as in there are not 5 of them listed permanently on ebay, there actually have been none of them since at least 3 months.
Then suddenly all my contacts in Japan found me a copy of it ! So I now have 3 copies : one with disc+back artwork only, one complete, one complete with spine. Will certainly sell back the 2 less complete copies, if anyone is interested.

How much are you selling them for? The one with disc and back artwork presumably doesn't have a front cover?

hey guigui - I'd be interested in the complete/no spine one depending on price! (and assuming here's anything different about the satakore version!)

There's nothing different in the Satakore version. It is just a reprint of the regular game with a slightly different packaging, Platinum version it would be called these days.

Your reference to Platinum 'these days' made me chuckle. I get what you mean. But the first round of Platinum games (1997) came out over a year before Choro Q Park (1998), and there have been no Platinum releases since 2010. It's all 'Essentials' and 'PlayStation Hits' now. Not as charming but probably to avoid confusion with trophies. Maybe Platinum actually predates Satakore. Does anyone know?

Ahah, my lack of knowledge about "Platinum" stopping at 2010 shows how much I care for modern gaming

Just bought Street Fighter 30th Anniversary Collection and the Flashback remaster, in fact. There is a heck of a lot of retro-style gaming still coming out today if that's what you're into.

Came across a cheap Winter Heat Jap copy on ebay (4$), and ordered it along J.League Victory Goal 96' (2$).
I'm also eyeing Layer Section and Assault Suit Leynos 2 which somehow appeared on a Polish auction site, but then again they're not that much cheaper than eBay average, and I already spent a little too much dosh on Saturn games this month, so I'm trying to refrain from it for now. I got this urge to buy all affordable (sub 50$ in my book) shoot'em ups as fast as possible - Darius II, Darius Gaiden, Layer Section, Salamander Deluxe Pack, Soukyuugurentai, etc. - but getting them all in one go would be a little ridiculous. It also stings a little that a few years ago you could get most of them for as low as 15$ (even the PAL copies of Darius and Galactic Attack) - I remember getting Salamander for that price from the Suruga-ya store in Japan - today they sell it for 50$, just like on eBay.
Overpriced or not though, I still enjoy the whole "hunting for games" thing. I guess I missed it a bit during the last few years.

Good luck trying ti gather shmups in 2018, prices have gone crazy. $50 seems to the lowest price possible for a shmups game like the one you listed, and the biggest ones often go over $400 (Hyper Duel, Tiger II, Boomerang, Image Fight & X Multiply).
Some sellers on ebay often auctions for them quite often, leaving a chance to get them at decent 2018 prices : yamatoku-classic, dora_ts17, jp-good.
Also, some sites where you can buy in confidence and prices are quite decent :
Oh, and I do have a copy of Duel that I am willing to negotiate in the 300€+ range

Actually, some of the shmups I named can easily be found for less than 50$ - Layer Section and both Darius games are probably among the cheapest and can be found for 30$ (Darius II might be more of a 40$ game). But yeah, lots of shoot'em ups have gotten ridiculous, Radiant Silvergun isn't even "that" expensive anymore. Nothing beats Delisoba DX though (cheapest copy on eBay right now - 2550 USD).
Yamatoku has great prices, but only for games - shipping on the other hand is pretty crazy if you buy single items, and I don't know how they calculate the total. I remember I ordered from Yamatoku once before, I think it was 3 Saturn games, but the combined shipping was basically 3 times the cost of shipping of a single game - although in the end they lowered the price after I complained about it (the explanation though didn't make much sense). And it was at a time when they shipped for 8$ per game and not 14$ like they do now.
I often find shipping costs much more prohibitive than the actual game prices. It hurts to find a game for a great price on eBay and then drop it (like it's hot) immediately because shipping costs makes the whole offer void. In case of some countries it has gotten worse over the years - I used to order games from US sellers sometimes, but now I haven't seen a single auction (with something I was willing to buy) which did not have something like 20$ for shipping minimum.

Delisoba DX ! I guess I was kind of lucky to fetch that 700€ auction about 4 months ago About Yamatoku, I think I understood the current pattern, at least for Saturn games. Definitely need to buy multiple games to make it worthy - 1 single box game is $14 - 1 double box game is $16 - every single box game after the 1st is +$3, pretty good. - every double box game after the 1st is +$10, pretty bad. Of course there is a bit of randomness to this. I also have no idea who (or rather when they) calcultate it : I often get answers to my total request at around 4 a.m. Japan time... The second shop I linked to you has an unbelievable 1000JPY (<10 euros) shipping fee applied to any order you can make, up to approx 12 single games. Enjoy it while it lasts. As for US importing, the USPS service has changed lately, and the best one can do is "USPS 1st class international package". It has a 2lbs (=1 kg ?) limitation and costs not less than $23.50, bad. Consequently, making big US games cases come to Europe is a nightmare. Fortunately, it does not get stopped for custom fees (well, the last 10 packets I imported to France did not get stopped).

I'd buy Delisoba DX if it was cheap enough, looks like a fun little game.
So if I got 5 (single case) games from Yamatoku it should cost 26$ to ship them - still more expensive than average but bearable, considering the games themselves would make up for it. I might try it once but I'm kinda worried they may calculate it differently to my disadvantage.
Yeah, thanks for the link, I have a bunch of stores with Saturn stuff bookmarked but not this one. They also have their stuff on eBay too.
Of course I ended up buying Layer Section - I figured the price is good (25$) and it would be convenient to pick it up now, especially since the seller lives in my city - a (sadly) pretty rare opportunity when it comes to Saturn games!
