SegaSaturn people,
Would anybody have access to a schematic for the steering controller? I cracked open a 3rd party wheel today and was very surprised to see no chips/logic on the pcb, this controller type looks like a straight through deal.
Kind regards, Joe.

The official steering wheel uses a 315-5874 IC on it, and uses a led based solution to read the motion of the wheel.

Interesting, similar to the way some old mice used to work.
I was dreaming when I said there was no logic, I later found the board inside the wheel portion, the board in the base of the unit was just a junction area, connecting several edge connectors together.

Care to post any pics of it? I wonder what chip/layout third party wheels use.

This particular wheel is the Logic 3 Top Drive JT 426.
I re-assembled the wheel the other night I'm afraid. I'm hesitant to pull it apart again unless I absolutely have to for now. I tacked a bunch of wires onto the left and right button PCB's, in order to attach a 4 speed shifter that I made.
I've embarked on an arcade project that will have a Saturn at the heart of it. The machine will basically play all Model 2 ports and ST-V ports that were released on Saturn. Hoping to have the 4 speed running by tonight....
