Hi there, I started using my “new” NTSC-J Saturn last night (26th December) , I have it hooked up to my 55 inch Samsung smart tv via a SCART to HDMI adapter and of course a J friendly SCART. My Saturn has been chipped it has both a region free chip and the phantom chip, the games worked good last night-not perfect in terms of graphics they were not completely full screen or exactly like they were on CRT TVs but I’d rather this than no Saturn,at least until I work out what I am doing wrong,or buy new better cables if I have to. so I put it on this evening I just powered it up and it loaded the start up animation, then instead of going to the game the screen went black and it was making a flashing type motion, no graphics coud be seen, just black,no sound of the game either. I turned it off, then turned it on again, and not even the start up animation comes on,it just does that flashing thing, im wondering if the SCART to HDMI adapter coud be overheated as the adapter did feel a bit hot, coud this be causing the problem? I’ve unplugged everything to do with the Saturn and it’s cables for now. I am not great with understanding technical things due to my disabilities and my carer is having dinner right now so I can’t bother her, it’s just scared me,I hope it’s not dead. pthe image I’ve posted were of it last night. Thankyou very much,I’d really love some help if anyone is about, cheers.

Hi everyone, just to update,my carer worked out it is the SCART cable,it’s crap basically, and the SCART to HDMI adapter isn’t great either. she has had to sellotape it into place.cit is still dodgy.
Just wondering but does anyone know of the best quality SCART and adapter for my Saturn that is readily available, I am going to have to upgrade to a decent setup, price isn’t an issue I don’t think. Thanks.

OSSC is probably the best choice for all but a handful of games (e.g Virtua Fighter since it runs in interlace).
RetroTINK SCART the best budget choice.
GBS control is worth a look but still quite a bit of hassle.
You're stretching the image out too, it should only take up the centre part of the screen with black bars at the left and right.
