So, I got this thing a few months ago and it's a mixed bag for me. I used it with a PS4 controller. Pros: It's very responsive. I feel no input lag at all. Not only that but the buttons are a lot more responsive than the Saturn 3d controller. You can spam the face buttons a lot faster and with more timing accuracy than the Saturn controller. Of course, the Saturn controller is 25 years old. So it's got an excuse for not being ultra responsive. It really is noticeable mooshy. I wonder if there's anything that can be done to restore the 3d controller. Cons: The analog stick is responsive, but has its issues. Playing NiGHTS is like playing on ice. When you do your dash move you can't make a slight adjustment to the flight path, you just go flying all over the place if you move in any direction but left or right. It should be fine for racing games, and most games aren't as temperamental as NiGHTS.[/strike] It's the weirdest thing. In the action replay, using the brook wingman, buttons will randomly get pressed. I haven't seen it delete anything, but it's definitely a little concerning and annoying. The default button layout is stupid. Why is C on R1? Why is X and Y on box and triangle? It's like they thought this was a SNES controller or something. You can remap it though, so not a huge deal. Edit: I was a big fat dummy and didn't switch the controller from regular mode to 3d mode. The analog stick is fine. www.brookaccessory.com/detail/62472958/ Here's a link to the instructions and to update firmware if need be.

I only use it on the DC now. It doesn't play well with my action replay cart for one - it sends spurious inputs while booting which messes up the menu. I can usually get the game to run eventually but it's a pain. Also the saturn plug on it feels a very, very tight fit and I worry about ruining the socket. I tend to use it to plug in my hori rap stick so can't speak for analogue performance. It's fine on the DC though.

I didn't notice any spurious inputs with mine and I always leave the AR cart in, I'll give it a bit longer though. I'm using it with a Quanba Drone stick.

There is a new firmware for the wingmanSD (JAN 2021) maybe that will improve things.

I'm thinking of purchasing this one. I want to start using it with an xbox360 controller. How is the opinion now after you have used it for a while? do the analog sticks work well in racing games?

I've only been playing shooters on my Saturn lately so it's been fine for me.

I ordered one. Do I need to update it right away before using it?

I ordered one. Do I need to update it right away before using it? Let me know what you think. I basically haven't used it with the ds4 analog stick at all. Sometimes I'll use it for the dpad. The other buttons are great. It feels -way- more responsive than the 3d controller.

So, I figured out what was wrong. I had NiGHTS in regular mode rather than 3d controller mode. So the analog stick was working like a d-pad. WHOOPS!
It feels a lot better now.
