Hi all.
Joined up previously just to read but decided to do an opening post.
I’ve had all sorts of consoles and computers over the years, but the Master System and Saturn were always my two favourites (I skippped the Mega Drive at launch as I had an Amiga and imported a PC engine and they took priority in the early 90s.)
Whilst I’ve kept up to date with modern consoles, I rarely have time to invest in the story driven games with constant cut scenes and slow-moving plots. I still prefer to put something on which can give me a 20 minutes blast.
I’ve only got space to keep 3 consoles set up in the house, so it’s always been whatever is the newest, whatever is my retro fad at the moment and the Saturn. The Saturn has been the one constant for 25 years.

Hey Golv! Nice to hear from you.
What do you normally play on modern consoles if you rarely have the time for the story heavy stuff?
In addition to your Saturn and your modern console what is the retro fad at the moment?

Hey Golv! Nice to hear from you. What do you normally play on modern consoles if you rarely have the time for the story heavy stuff? In addition to your Saturn and your modern console what is the retro fad at the moment? I still play the story heavy stuff but I tend to play a game, which takes a while, then have a break for a while. I’ve played practically every Resident Evil ( and loved the last two) and recently finished The Last of Us part 2. But I tend to just play sequels to series that I am into rather than try new stuff unless it’s really hyped. Whatever is free on PSPlus I may give a quick spin to but rarely get into them much. As for retro stuff, the GameCube is set up at the moment, although I’m spending a lot of time finishing old coin ops on Mame that I’ve never completed. I did Rainbow Islands earlier today and if it had been £0.50 per credit it would have cost me about £100 😀😀

I just bought quantum break for 7$ CAD yesterday to just see what its like. Whatcha play on GameCube? I love that little thing, some of the best star wars games ever. And LOL I feel that re the coin ops

The most played thing on the GameCube is Virtua Striker. It’s not really a great game, but when I was younger they had a coin op in one of the pubs we used to go in most weeks and we played it to death. Also like F-Zero GX and the original Burnout.

Eh most played games don't have to be the best. Some of my most played titles are absolute trash. Like you said, what matters the most is having a connection or memory of some sort to the game.
