I have a sanyo Jap saturn that I am installing my arcade. Anyone else with a Sanyo confirm what/why this is here? Hope the pictures are helpful. and this.. I took the saturn apart recently to wire up the arcade video and audio out, and I found the following, rather odd compared to other US consoles... Unfortunately the reason I was using this saturn is the av plug is wreched and i will be wiring up the output direct from the motherboard. Here's a half decent shot of the region jumpers should anyone need one.

I don't personally ever recall seeing such a daughterboard, though it's been a long time since I opened up a Sanyo system. That's pretty wack, considering there's a wire that's soldered directly on to one of the IC pins. If it weren't for the Sega logo on the board, I would've thought it's some hobbyist mod job of some sort.

Thanks for the Reply. I had very similar feelings about the chip myself, I am tempted however to desolder the wires and see how the unit behaves. If it would help I could post the serial of the console or something. Where are th saturn hardware developers when you need 'em
