Ok since the floppy disc drive accesory for the saturn is just a peripheral, does this mean it could maybe run on a PAL console as long as you had an action replay cart, to read the operating cd that comes with it? After all, it would be just like an NTSC game would it not?
Sorry, I have been wondering, as I would like to buy one.
Thanks

Yeah, you could do that... though pointless if you want to backup stuff since you'd need your memory cart to backup stuff to it... and the action replay is in the slot.
On top of that, the Action Replay's memory cannot be accessed in any application or game for the Saturn except the Action Replay itself. You wouldn't even be able to move saves from it to the floppy drive.
With an Action Replay all you'd get out of it is Dezaemon 2 which has a built in floppy drive manager for it's own save files. (Won't touch any other)
Your best bet is to get one with a Japanese console. Otherwise, it'll be useless unless you like making shmups.

Yup. There was even almost a zip drive for the Dreamcast. It got cancelled though. Only one prototype is um... known to exist.

Tend to be a bit pricey nowadays: cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=190298996905There was also a 3rd party version released in Japan that was bright sonic blue! but I've only ever seen one once and that was over 10 years ago in the Import section at Fantasy World. If anyone has any info or pics on that one please post them!

I didn't know that they were so expensive. I have seen a few before in Japan and they are about 10 to 20 pounds each. The same sort of price as the modem and VCD card. Next time I see one I might get it.
