Yep I've played this too about 2 years back if I remember correctly. I could always remember the game but not the name. I didn't like it very much then though so I doubt I'd like it now. Average game
Plan B's the safe way, step on ya A-Game, SKY'S THE LIMIT!
I guess. My main annoyance with Croc is the real clunky controls. Sure you can get used to them but it seems over clunky when it doesn't need to be.
I also found Croc to be quite dark in terms of colours and textures wheras that jap game looks very bright and colourful like what Sonic should be.

Yeah I see your point but still, a good decent little 3d sonic game using a simple but great looking little 3d engine like the game i linked to would have done wonders. A simple 3d sonic model, a few rings, texture changes and what not and I dare say it would have been great fun.
Sonic was never the same when Sonic Adventure came out. Sure it was fun but Sonic in a human world is a big NO NO for me. The megadrive originals is where it should have stayed like and could have easily been done on the saturn. Simple but fun good looking 3d levels with loops and what not.
That 3D game above shows how good the saturns 3d can be and shows how sonic could have been. A great looking and fun, colourfil little game.
IMO the Sonic DS titles are 100% spot on of how the gameplay should have evolved. Mind you the none warehog parts of Sonic Unleashed are quite good also.
I think the 3D world in Sonic Jam looks a lot more impressive. Other than a few brighter colors, yeah, Ninpen does indeed look a lot like Croc. It's got those big blocky air platforms that defined Bug!, too. The engine looks alright, but going by the movie, it doesn't look like there's a whole lot to do in the game. Four coins? Sonic would be empty inside.
While that video looks good (as does the Sonic World in Sonic Jam), you have to remember that Sonic games required speed, and I don't think the Saturn (or any 32-bit console) could have handled worlds big enough so Sonic reach the sorts of speeds he did in the 16-bit games. The best type of Sonic game on the Saturn would have been a 2D one in my opinion.

I think Sonic R showed that the Saturn was quite capable of speed in a 3D world
Sonic World might have been slower, but for me it felt more like a proper next generation Sonic game and would have provided a far better introduction to the third dimension than... well, Sonic 3D!
