Hey everyone! I just got a new (aka second-hand) TV, a widescreen, Ferguson CRT SD-TV. It has 2 RGB scart sockets, and I was particularly looking forward to playing my Saturn on the TV. Unfortunately, it has been plagued with problems. The picture frequently 'jumps', and once every 15 or so seconds, the picture begins rolling, before returning to just jumping. It goes without saying that this isn't playable, and I have used RGB Scart, S Video, and Composite cables, and they all have the same effect. I have tried both 50hz and 60hz modes (my Saturn is modded from Console Passion), and it has the same effect. However, one game is exempt from this rule, Virtua Fighter 2. It jumps like every other game (Sega Rally, Astal, Dark Savior) during the character select screen, but in game, it works perfectly, which suggests it may be the high resolution mode. It wouldn't make sense to me, but it seems the TV has trouble displaying the Saturn's default resolution. For the record, I have also connected my Playstation 2 and Dreamcast to the same TV, both with RGB scart, and they work perfectly (and look awesome in RGB). Please drop us a line if yeh have any ideas, this is really annoying me, as I was particularly looking forward to playing Saturn in RGB on this TV. Nonetheless, thanks anyway, cya round! -hebe

This type of behavior generally means your TV isn't doesn't like the console's sync signal. Do you have a different TV to try with? I've never had a problem with a Saturn, but I have 2 SD-CRTs. One of them is fine with the NeoGeo AES, but I get this same problem on the other.

Hey, thanks ever so much for the reply.
Yes, I have tried the Saturn on my 2 other TVs, one of which it hand the same problem on, but only on RGB, not Composite; the other it worked perfectly on.
Interesting development, I have since tried my Playstation (PSOne model) and Nintendo 64 on the TV, and while the PS worked perfectly, the N64 had identical issues (using RF)
Would routing the system through a VCR or DVD Recorder work? I have several on hand that I can use.
Nonetheless, thanks a bunch.

To be honest it sounds like you might have the wrong SCART cable.
NTSC Saturn's output a different sync voltage than PAL ones, so you might need to get hold of a Euro-Scart designed for use on an NTSC machine if that's what you're using, or vice versa...
Seeing as it happened on two of your TVs but not one, that seems a bit odd and I'm willing to guess that one of your TVs is perhaps more lenient with Sync signals than the others.
