Had one of these carts for a while now, but it no longer seems to work as a memory backup. I can still play all my import games (JP and US on a PAL machine), and it boots up normally, but whenever I try to copy game saves from the system memory to the AR cart it just freezes on the "Saving to Cartridge - Please Wait!" message. Rebooting after a while shows that no data has actually been saved on the cart.
I've tried cleaning the cartridge / slot, but wondered if there's anything else I can do? Can you format Action Replay carts? Is it time to get a new one?
Thanks in advance. Gordon

Hi Gordon Some of the older AR carts use a battery, much like the Saturn's internal memory. Open up the cart and have a check, it's possible if it has one the battery has died.

I had exactly the same problem, open the cart and dust it out a little. When you copy a save onto the ar cart & try to exit, the screen still hangs (for me anyway), but i leave it there for a minute then press reset on the saturn. going back into the memory manager i can see the file has been copied over successfully!! hopefully this works for you
