I think I might have the wrong switch to do this mod - I have a spdt on-off-on switch and I think I need an on-off or something.
Can I do the mod with an on-off-on switch?
Cheers!

Are you pulling the pins direct from the video chip? In this case you need an spdt on-on switch (or a dpdt, but you'll just leave one row clear). Which means, your on-off-on switch will work as well, but you'll just have an extra position in the middle.
I don't know about the other (easier) mod where you alter some things near the battery compartment. Never have done it this way. Either way, if you have a dual throw on-off-on switch (dual throw, 3 position), you can technically use that switch whether the mod requires a (single throw) on-off or an (dual throw, 2 position) on-on switch.
