I just recently got myself SimCity 2000, and was looking forward to killing a boring afternoon with it, but I'm finding it has some terrible lag. The buttons take a long time to respond (I have to hold them down for a while for them to react. Just tapping them doesn't work), the frame-rate is low, and the cursor moves painfully slow. Are all copies of the game like this, or did I just have some bad luck? Even as a huge SimCity fan I'm finding this near impossible to enjoy.

It's a horrible port, I rememeber that much but having not played it for a long time I cant rememeber if what you're describing is normal.

I was pleasantly surprised by this port, myself. I feared that playing such a game without a mouse would be a pain, but this is anything but the case. Great implementation of the standard Saturn controller. Unfortunately I couldn't get much into the game because when I try to save, it says that I don't have enough space even though my Saturn's internal memory has more free blocks than the manual says is required.
I can't say for sure about the frame rate or the cursor since I'm not terribly picky about such things, but I'm certain that I had no need to hold down the buttons to get them to respond.

I just looked at Youtube footage, and the frame-rate is definately smoother, and the cursor moves faster too. I also noticed that the loading times were quicker, and there wasn't a delay in the sound when making a selection on the menu, like in my version. So I'm presuming I just got a bad copy? (I've been having really bad luck with getting bad copies, if that's the case. First Fighters Megamix, now this)
EDIT: Should also be noted that I have the PAL version of the game. I also just had the game stop responding on me when I tried to load a scenario. As for the condition of the disk, it's really good. Can only see light scratches if you shine a light at it.
