Well... not really no. Cause the Saturn parts themselves are no longer in manufacture.
You could build one out of old bits.
And all you'd have is an old saturn ;p

Unless of course you made your own chips with an identical architexture, essentially clones, and ripped all the data off the Saturn and burned them into new chips, and maybe alter some code or write new drivers to read a newer CD drive or something...
Another words, it'd be one big pain in the rear since the original components aren't being produced anymore. I thought of this idea at one time too but really... why even bother? It would cost more to make than to buy one off eBay.

I agree, why bother, yet somehow I would have a strange level of respect and admiration for anyone that was able to do it. That is some commitment to the cause.

You couldn't just "Make your own chips" you'd need to have access to the data for the SH2 chips and happen to have your own chip processing plant...

I did find one down the back of my sofa once.

I think as of 2006 building regulations require all chip processing plants to be constructed down the back of sofas.
So yes, it's the law!

What about old chips, in a brand spanking new case? =) With a new faster CD-ROM drive to minimise loading times, or even a DVD drive, that was chipped, and could take DVD-Rs with 4 or 5 games on them? =D Or maybe even a harddrive with your games collection on, so you'd never have to get up and change discs? ^_^ And with built-in Six-tap, action replay, 4Megs of RAM, and a USB port to upload your save games to PC.
All in a small sleek case design. =)
