Just wondering, will a JPN copy of The house of the Dead work on a NTSC saturn with AR 4+1. Secondly, whenever I go to play a light gun game and have both the AR in the cart slot and a light gun hooked up to the controller port the AR menu goes nuts. Can I start the game with a regular controller and once the game is started up switch the controller to the light gun? I have a few consoles where if you pull the controller out it just freezes. Thanks

Yep, it's a shame the 4-in-1 only works with the standard and analog controllers, but I've gotten in the habit of swapping controllers around whenever I play a game which uses the light gun or mouse. (I also do a lot of additional swapping when I play Sakura Wars, since the mouse is nice to use on some parts of the game but just terrible on other parts.)

Yep, in fact you can switch in the light gun at any point after you've gone through the 4-in-1 menus.

Just gonna give an old thread of mine a bump here. So obviously as stated above the game works on my NTSC console with the AR. I have played this game quite alot with the buddies and we get pretty close to the end of the game before running out of credits. Now we would like to see the end of this game so we figured why not use the AR codes for infinite credits or infinite life? After finishing it that way we would continue to play the game to finish it without "cheating." Anyways so I got what I believe are AR codes from this site (the master code and everything lines up): cheats.codetwink.com/sat/view/3782But when I entered the 3 cheats into my AR(in addition to the master code) and started the game they didn't work. I entered the codes for infinite lives (both for P1 and P2) and infinite credits. Me and my pal tried both the saturn mode and arcade mode, tried the AR in regular mode, and tried starting the game with comms enabled ( Idk what this option means) I also checked to make sure I didn't mistype the codes. What step am I missing to get the codes to work? Any help is greatly appreciated!

Useful thread! I've been curious about this myself. Looks like I'll acquire a Virtua Cop light gun pack sometime soon.

What version of house of the dead are you using japan,pal,u.s.? what region is the action replay code for? What I'm trying to say is if you have the japan copy of the game you have to use the japan action replay code.

I found a code on gamefaqs it's for the saturn mode On the select screen press L, R, R, L, L, R, then hold L+R and press Start it has a stage select and turn infinite health on.

I wish I could get hold of a decent CRT, not played a light gun game since about 2005! I think there is a conspiracy round here to hide all the good TV's from me.

One of my local charity shops has a wall full of quality CRTs, go for Sony, Panasonic, B&O or the more top range Phillips sets, great picture on them.

Ah now charity shops I ain't tried yet. I've been searching ebay/gumtree/loot for weeks and nothing suitable around me has surfaced. I did bid on a B&O but it was too big at 20" for where it's going really, although if one comes up local and cheap enough I may be tempted to put one in the barn with a dreamcast on it!
I need 14-16" really. One or two Sony's came up but I couldn't confirm they supported 60hz. There is a portable phillips up now but same story, even the manual doesn't make it clear that is does support 60hz.
So, charity shops next then. Cheers.
