So, being newer to the Saturn and particularly interested in the platformers, shmups, and fighting games (and eventually a few of the RPGs if possible) that it allows me to access and enjoy (Japanese or otherwise) I have been wondering a bit regarding 3D fighters for this system.
I am more interested, largely, in 2D fighters that do not require an additional RAM Cart (as I'm using a GameShark to bypass region lock) but since early into my collecting I have been able to get a few of the 3D fighters I was interested in, but now I am wondering if it's worth getting a few others, so here's the specifics:
I have import versions of Fighting Vipers and Fighter's Megamix. I am planning on getting a copy of Last Bronx in the near future but I am wondering mostly if I should still get Virtua Fighter 2 (or even one or remix, even) despite having Fighter's Megamix which I have found to be extremely fun and sometimes awesomely ridiculous, too.
In your opinion, is it worth having and playing all of those or even more? What other good 3D fighters are out there for Saturn?

3D Fighters you need for your Saturn are:
Virtua Fighter 2 Fighting Vipers Last Bronx Dead or Alive (JPN only) and Fighters Megamix
Regardless of the connotations of what FFMix represents, it's still VERY MUCH worth owning VF2 & FV individually.
IF... you're looking for something a bit different, I can also recommend an often overlooked 3D fighter:
Zero Divide 3: Final Conflict.
It's pretty damn slick.
Also, Anarchy in the Nippon is also worth checking out. It's very SEGA-esque, but just isn't quite up to par. Depends on how much variety you do, or do not like, in your 3D fighter diet?

Neo cmon, how could you forget about the game in your signature For real though, all the games Neo mentioned there are all top games ( I have only played the first 3 myself). LB, FV and VF2 can all be found for low prices and offer lots of replay value.

Neo cmon, how could you forget about the game in your signature Of course! The 3D fighting game exclusive more of us Saturn owners should take greater pride in. Unfortunately, that does NOT include me...

If you are only looking at the Saturn then VF2, FV, LB are the obvious choices, although better arcade ports can be found elsewhere. Still the Saturn versions are cheap as chips.
For games distinct to the Saturn I'd go with Anarchy in Nippon and Dead or Alive. DoA was on xbox but that was only a port of the Saturn game anyway.
You need to get a region cart with the ram built in as passing on the 2D fighters that require the RAM eliminates the best ones.

Well I never tried it so I am in the undecided portion I guess Also I agree with dquick. A cart that allows imports, and provides RAM is a must if 2D fighters are your desire. The Action Replay 4 in 1 will let you play most games, but with some you will notice slow down or they are unplayable.

Fighting Vipers is unnecessary if you have Megamix, unless you go for the Japanese copy that has Pepsiman playable.
Dead or Alive has the most impressive 3d models on the Saturn IMO (lots of movement physics involved unlike VF2), but the backgrounds are meh. Last Bronx has the most impressive backgrounds (they finally learnt how to use the VDP2 for that).
DoA can also be picked up super cheap.

I know a lot of people here aren't fans, but I'd recommend the Toshinden games. Also, while they're more sports-based fighters, there are also Savaki and All Japan Pro Wrestling Featuring Virtua to consider... thankfully your cartridge slot already being in use means you can keep avoiding Final Fight Revenge!
P.S. What's with the signature, NeoGeoNinja?

Well, it could be stellar, but the controls are so slow and laggy that you can't really actually fight in that game. Oddly the PC version of the first game, which was totally rewritten from ground up, has incredibly smooth controls and is ten times more fun. But really, people keep saying that Toshinden is best used as a music CD, and I have to agree on that. The music is ace.

The Toshinden games should merely be a distant memory, for, luckily for us, when Tamsoft brought us their 3rd 'effort', exclusively for the Saturn, "they finally got everything right!" D-Xhird was trash though.

2D: Street Fighter Alpha 2 &/or Street Fighter Collection which includes SFA2-Dash
3D: The original Virtua Fighters can be fun and captures that early feel of what the Saturn was all about. Great music too.
As others have said, VF2 & Fighters Megamix. If your a fan of Kage then one unique feature about Fighters Megamix is that Kage is much the same to use as VF3 Kage, add all the extra stuff Megamix has on offer and you have one very nice game indeed.

D-Xhird's somehow worse than Toshinden. It traded the awesome music and good character design (both strong points of Toshinden) for somewhat impressive graphics. It kept the bad animation and horrible controls. Of course it was worse.

It had good design, actually. You had swordsman of various different ethnicities (a Japanese swordsman, a british chav - wielding Excalibur for some reason -, a French knight), American strongman, Turkish gypsy dancer, Russian leatherclad dominatrix, and so on. Same shit as what Streetfighter had at the time. And then you had the boss which was an armoured samurai wielding a zweihander and having two scorpion tails grow out of its back. I can't name 1 memorable design from D-Xhird.
