Wait.....Saturn got a Contra game? Uh huh. US Exclusive: - - It's alright you know. It just couldn't stack up to heavy expectations vs the emergent wonderous world of 3D back in the day. Take it on it's own merits and you'll enjoy it...

Sod 3D and its influence back then. Imagine letting the Saturn loose on a full on 2D Contra game. Sigh.

Contra Legacy of War is actually a good game as many on this site will tell you. The reviewer in that link is talking a load crap IMO.

Thats the whole point alot of us are trying to make. There are so many rubbish reviews for it... COE is a decent guy, but his interests are limited. Derek Alexander AKA Stop Skeletons From Fighting on Youtube is a good reviewer but I argued with him about Contra Legacy of War. Heres the truth. The game is NOT given a chance by those who can't get beyond the fact its called Contra. They feel Contra is sacred and only to be done 2D. I dont disagree. A proper 2D Contra on Saturn would have been sexy as hell. However taken for what it is, as a 3D run and gun on the Saturn, its so good. I wish it had been just called Legacy of War or anything but Contra. It would have been just seen as a surprising run n gun. Its super smooth, weapons are satisfying, but the kicker to me are the graphics and design. There are so many cool polygon mid bosses that are unique all the way through the end of the game. I like seeing the 3D stuff done on a Saturn even more so. Im really not sure how else to convince people of what Contra LOW really is if given a proper play through. Really wish they just didn't use the Contra name I guess...
