Initial D music swap mod

Greetings! Lately, I've been fussing with the Saturn version of Initial D, trying to do a simple CDDA replacement that would substitute the original music for the iconic soundtrack which was later featured in the tv series. Extracting the game into iso/wav form was simple, as was replacing the target tracks with .wav's of the ones I wanted to use. However, even after making a new .cue file which properly lists the tracks' run times, the game still cuts tracks off and loops them at the original time, which of course is much too soon.
I tried the exact same swap method in Virtua Cop, and made sure to use a replacement with a substantially longer run time than the original. As expected, it worked perfectly fine, so I can only assume that this problem is isolated to Initial D, and in theory could be solved by editing one or more of the files found within the game's data track. This is where I've run into trouble. I have no idea what to do with any of these, and everything I've tried has been a dead end. If any experts could lend me their knowledge, I'd greatly appreciate it!
*Note - This problem occurs both during gameplay and within the "BGM Test" on the options menu. If the original track which I've replaced is 30 seconds long, the new one will cut off and loop at 30 seconds in every time. I don't know yet what happens if you use a replacement that's shorter.
Here's what I'm looking at as far as the actual game files go. (Couldn't get the spoiler code working and didn't want to flood the page with images)
