With normal brightness I can't really see anything, maybe tiny bit of flicker in the very dark parts of the trees on the title screen. I've never known an analogue/digital conversion be completely noise free in very dark scenes, even using the best premium quality cables etc.

Here's a better Youtube upload, quality still isn't stellar, but much improved by handling as much of the preprocessing as possible using virtuadub and other tools, rather than letting Youtube do it.

Who, there's an "original" quality setting in youtube now?
Also, capture at 60fps ffs.

I've been thinking of introducing our own video uploading on the main website if I can get my head around it, we certainly have the space and bandwidth available.

Why? Youtube always converts to 30fps anyway.

At 720p or above, it uses a variable framerate, not fixed 30. And then there's that "original" quality too.

Variable frame-rate? That's the first I've ever heard of such a thing for video. It's worth a try for the original quality option though. I'd never noticed that before either.

Well I recall that they mentioned that in their FAQ, but they rewrite it daily and I can't find it anymore.
And they may change their quality settings eventually - remember, there used to be a 10 minute limit too.
