I have a model 2 Saturn (round buttons), like the guy in the link, so I should be ok with that tutorial?

I have three Saturns and the two I went to mod had different insides (I don't know what type of motherboard though sorry). Fortunately, one was the same as the tutorial and is rediculously easy to mod.
Only two pieces of wire need soldering to the motherboard and then the switch. I haven't screwed the switch into the battery cover though because I didn't have anything to cut the hole.
It genuinely is stupidly easy to perform this mod. Only made difficult if you're either completely new to soldering or rubbish at it (like me!). Good luck.

Right, neither of my PAL model 2's have the same motherboard as the one in the guide. I dont have them 'solder pads'.
Any other guides for the other boards?

That is how I modded my Saturn, by lifting the pin on the IC and soldering directly to it. I'm sure I've read a way of soldering to one of the traces but I only know the pin lifting method.

Pin lifting works on any saturn but it's not good practice - easy to mess up, and near impossible to repair.

If you're careful and use the correct tools it's a doddle, but yes very easy to mess up if you're heavy handed.

Well of course, it involves soldering, for which you need a soldering iron that is hot enough to destroy parts of the machine irreparably.
But it's easier to solder to 1 premade solder trace, than to lift pins.
Anyway there's no point in me arguing about this since it's my fault that I haven't written any proper guides yet.

Feel free to write a guide before I try this mode myself

Still not tried this yet as im still awaiting the switch in the post that I ordered. UK sellers are utter bastards 99.999% of them.
Anyway, does anybody have a link to a 60hz switch mod for the VA9 board which DOES NOT involve messing around with pin 79? I can find plenty of forum posts online, but the links to the actual tutorials all seem to have been removed because they were old?
