The Saturn isnt in pieces at the moment, but im pretty sure it says VA9 in quite big writing.
Do you want me to take a good close-up picture of just the board or do you want the serial?
PS - Where do I find the serial?

Does anybody know what would happen if you switched from 50Hz to 60Hz (or vice versa) whilst the console is switched on?

It will switch from 60hz to 50hz.
Some games may lock up, or display wrong sized picture (compared to if they were launched in that hz mode) etc.

Extreme usage may damage it, so best practice would be to not switch things around when it's powered on.

Glad to hear you got it sorted, mancity. I'm always wary of messing about with the insides of console.
Also, I've switched from 50hz to 60hz many times and nothing bad has happened.

Being able to switch from 50 to 60hz on the fly, you can really appreciate the benefits of 60hz gaming! Especially on SHMUPS.

the pin lifting method is what i done on my childhood saturn, is that the best way? isn't there one main board where you can just do something to the big circle metal patches near battery compartment?
