Ok, I just got out of bed... had to look at the pictures twice as it looked like a Dreamcast at first and I'm thinking WTF it was meant to be a Saturn, which it is any way haha!

**WORD OF ADVICE** Careful about keeping your White Saturns boxed and hidden away. They can STILL turn yellow without any sunlight. I had a new white Saturn carefully stored away in a box, a console I was very proud of. Next time I checked it, it had 'started' to discolour. Was pretty gutted. Enjoy them while they're White imo

I'm set on Saturns, lol. If I did buy another, it would be for a custom painjob. There's a guy on eBay who does console paintjobs using automobile paint. Been thinking about picking up a used Saturn and shipping it off to him for quite some time.

Man, the comments and complaints I used to have to put up with off schoolkids, friends, parents and even teachers! Hahahaha! All of Sega's white consoles seem to yellow. I remember seeing some beautiful white Gamegears that although safely stored (like NGN) they started yellowing.

Hell, the white Saturn I have has got no perceptible yellowing, even being over 15 years old. Neither does my Dreamcast (bought NIB a couple years ago), or my second NIB Dreamcast (I've had a peek ). It would likely be different though if the box hadn't been stored in ideal conditions. If it were kept in a warm place, and not sealed in plastic within the box, I would expect more visible yellowing. Luckily, I keep all my stuff in cool, air-conditioned rooms, away from sunlight, and I don't smoke. I've personally never had any yellowing happen to a system I have owned, though I've bought a few that already had the problem. Of course, maybe I've just been lucky with the plastic mix hypothesis from the above article. Either way though, I think I'm kind of bored having a nice white console in a box and never looking at it, so I'll either start using this one or buy a third Saturn. A third Saturn? What the hell is wrong with me...

I've had 3 Saturn's since the later part of the last century so yeah... something wrong some where! BTW some say it can be down to the amount of fire retardant compounds why some yellow quicker than others, more so if different parts have been made in different places or countries like a good number of SNES shells. Also they say people that have used retrobright find their stuff going yellow sooner than a machine stashed in the dark for years from new with some having to redo it. Luck of the draw at the end of the day and a bit to do with how it's looked after. I've been sat in the dark for years in my gaming room since my old Amiga A500+ went yellow back in the 90's and even my beloved Dreamcast has started to turn even tho to the naked eye you would say it has not, that's compared to the brand new Dreamcast I still have stashed in it's box 24/7. Maybe air be it fresh or not is also partly to blame vs the amount that's held in a plastic bag when kept in a box lol.

Those Galaxy sticker saturns were fairly common a few years ago, they were all completely new and unopened. As the supply went down, people started asking for ridiculous prices though, and I ended up missing my chance to buy one. Basically, I want to go the best route possible. Changing out the power supply sounds easy enough as long as I can find which one I need and then locate one to buy. Any JP or USA model that has a VA6 or later motherboard should have a pin compatible power supply. However you should check the markings on the power supply the machine has; many of them have the voltages they support written down clearly. The few similar power supplies I have, do not show any such numbers however beyond their fuse rating.

Was probably NeoGeoThai in hindsight, lol! The original asking price was very reasonable, for a NIB Asia Saturn. Around £80 each they were plus shipping. Price gouging 'credit to the community' w@nkshaft morons were asking around £200 a year or so later. Quite hard to like/enjoy this 'hobby' at times, eh?

I feel like it was $120-140 or so US. Definitely wouldn't have paid the 200 pounds. Shame that stuff happens.

I picked up one of these Asian Saturn's while I was in the UK, loved the 220 PSU while I was there, once I came back to Canada I just swapped it out with a native 110v from a North American Saturn and it worked fine.

Hey guys, I bought a cheap step-up converter on Amazon but it was 100w. I was confused by the label of "step up/down 100-240" or whatever, but apparently I need one that's at least 300w (or more?) to be safe. Right?
Some of you guys mentioned these Galaxy Saturns work just fine through US outlets, but how do you plug them in? My US Saturn's power cord is a slightly different shape so I can't plug it into the back of the Thai Saturn even to test it.

I have a white JP console ( 110V ) and since I live in the Netherlands we have 220v here I needed a step-down. So the 220 V supplied is transformed to a 110w that won't fry the Saturn.
