Hey guys probably 7 years too late but Im finally joining this board. Been a huge Saturn fan since the days it came out. Ive been on the Saturn Netlink League forums for years and have a few videos on Youtube showing gameplay of Duke and Bomberman. Not sure why I never joined before. I believe I felt it was a PAL only forum for a long time. Im located in Buffalo, NY USA btw. Look forward to posting.

Hi DerekR, and welcome to SS:UK! I can understand your presuming this site/forum being PAL only, but as you've obviously realised... it's really not. If anything, it's actually a very healthy international split between UK, US & Australia - with some Europe, Scandanavia and whatnot thrown into the mix too! The site owner/admin is into his Netlink stuff, so there's a high chance he might know, or probably, be a member of the Netlink League forums. Enjoyed your few posts so far. See you around...

Welcome! It's good to see that this forum has a steady flow of new members for being dedicated to such a niche platform.

Derek... It's been a pleasure to have you on board so far. You've contributed PLENTY of quality posts here and generated some great discussion - on both subjects old and new. You don't have to worry about bumping old threads because everytime you do, it's always with good reason and you always offer a worthwhile contribution or perspective to the specific topic you've bumped. I/we won't discourage that What we do discourage, are the types of individuals (i.e. NOT you!) who find our forum and start bumping old topics with one word or minimal word count single sentences (i.e. "nice" or "great collection" etc), just to gain access to our buy/sale threads, for their own means. Sure enough, when they reach that required post count, they usually *all of a sudden* post a list of wanted titles they want to buy or post up a thread with a load of old non-Saturn related gash they want to shift/trade toward Saturn gear. And then never post again. Seriously. Apologies for the cynicism, but after being on forums for a good few years, you can usually see the patterns forming quite quickly and it can be quite irritating behaviour to observe. It's most probably just my personality, eh? Anyway, don't apologise for bumping old topics you want to discuss. I've enjoyed reading everything you've posted thus far and I'm sure regular posters and lurkers alike agree - (p.s. still not convinced about DN3D on Saturn though. You won't win me over on that one too easily )

I can see you need a lot of work Neo. Duke is borderline unforgivable BUT I think I can get you into Sonic R and its wonderful soundtrack too! BTW I just noticed I have reached the post total for Buy/Sell forum. Time to raid it and then get out

Hahaha! Mate... I owned Sonic R for years. I thought it was f*ckin' awful. I just didn't like anything about it - at all... and I LOVE racing games. I apologise; it really wasn't for me. If need be, I still have it on a PS2/GCN compilation somewhere (it's on Gems collection, I think)... although, apparently, it's slightly different to the Saturn version(?)... daylight changes throughout the stages etc, so I hear. Enjoy the 'marketplace'. Not entirely sure our PAL-heavy sales climate will be up your alleyway tbh

AS far as the Marketplace goes I feel already I can find the odd deal for my US Sega collections but who know maybe Ill even get into PAL.
Did they ever make a Cricket video game for Saturn in the UK? Please say yes! I know Genesis/MD has one.

Don't think so Derek. I'm gonna go out on a limb and presume that Codemasters were making a Brian Lara Cricket for the Saturn, but it got canned along the way...? However, we did get a Rugby game

Makes sense. Cricket has a non existent fanbase in US but I personally enjoy it.

I find it funny how over here it's dismissed as the British equivalent of baseball. I bought into that comparison myself until I read a cricket novel by one of my favorite authors. Any time the book went into describing a match, I was totally at a loss. Okay, I followed (1)the players try to hit the ball, and (2)the team with the most points wins. Other than that I couldn't find any similarity to baseball. (Still enjoyed the novel, though, despite not being able to understand the actual cricket bits.) A cricket game for the Saturn by Codemasters sounds interesting. Shame it never came about.
