So as Ive mentioned before, as a huge survival horror nut and a Saturn fan, Ive yet to play Deep Fear. Really no excuse. As a US saturner, Ive always been put off by the fact that we never got a release here for me to play. Didn't want to play the JPN version and wasn't keen on a PAL release. However I think I finally settled on a way I can play the game and be satisfied. I just won a prototype of the US NTSC version of the game for $86 off ebay. Im not even sure if thats a lot of money or too little money. I think I saw one go for $200 on the assembler forum years ago. Regardless im kinda excited. I finally feel like I have something resembling an official US release or as close as Ill ever get. Its an official Sega of America prototype of the unreleased complete US version. Works for me. I still need one of those first party developer discs to play it cleanly. www.ebay.com/itm/262153177195Strange you guys didn't get a release. Is there a reason why? Only games that you guys recieved which us PAL guys didn't which annoyed me where College Slam and World Series Baseball 98. But I wouldn't trade Deep Fear for them. It was 100% finished for a US release as you can tell by these test copies. They probably just didnt want to release it so late. Res Evil 1 is in my Saturn Top 5 so im excited to give DF a go finally. If its too much of a RE clone I can probably still find a slight bit of enjoyment. As for PAL vs. NTSC its weird you never got WSB 98. Probably one of the best sports games on the system.College Slam is good fun but only cool as the only NCAA game on the system. As much as I like survival horror, Id still rather have all those Working Designs Games, Mega Man games and Contra in my collection which oddly never made it to PAL. Not having an official retail release isnt an issue since no one really played it when it came out. Really all the same now as most of us discovered these games later on. Now that I have an official US NTSC Deep Fear the only PAL non US release game I really care for is Frankenstein (which is pricey) .... hey I like PC point n clicks and Tim Curry

Not overally fussed as I have World Series Baseball 2 which is obviously amazing. I also have NBA Jam TE but would like College Slam as I'm a big basketball fan.

dtss you are Aussie right? Didnt realize those were sports you were into. Sometimes in the US its hard to guage the interest outside of our country in certain sports.
Luckily College Slam is easy to import, pretty cheap here. And yes WSBII is fantastic in its own right.

Australian Football is the biggest sport here however I personally have zero interest in it. Basketball (I play for a local domestic club here) and Soccer are pretty popular in Australia and both games I love. Baseball not so much. However I do have a 13 year old nephew who just represented Australia for Baseball and went on a tour of Japan playing against teams from Asia.

Oh thats great. Im a sports nut, its hard not to be in the US. (Ice Hockey, Basketball, American Football, Baseball... all the college versions too) But Ive traveled the globe a few times and became a big fan of AFL (North Melbourne fan), Cricket fan (I kinda like South Africa and NZ lol) and of course soccer. Rugby it depends. I dont much like the NRL style. I prefer Union I think. I assume you are in the Melbourne region. Its incredible how big AFL is there but not really outside of the region as much. I do recall seeing a Basketball league while there. Do you play in that? Even though its quality isnt like we have here it intrigued me. I saw some jerseys at a store for a team maybe the Heat

I'm 34 now, I just personally play in a local domestic basketball league for fun with friends however when I was younger (18-23) I did play in the state league which was the league below the national league. I played against a lot of players who went on to play in the national competition here. That was when I was obviously younger and fitter! Haha. I'm a sports nut myself, huge Miami Heat fan (followed them for 25 years) and love watching them on NBA League Pass whenever they're on.

rugby union and cricket is and football of course and some cycling South Africa is biggest with Rugby Union. Cricket has a following as well. There are also alot of incredible golfers from RSA and they do have a decent tour down there of their own. What I gathered is Rugby/Cricket are followed more in the white demographics while Soccer is actually favored more by the black population and not so much by the white. ANYWAY this was a Deep Fear thread. Im likely to give this game a go finally after receiving my Official Sega US version prototype discs. Quite excited. I assume and am hoping this is a 100% complete version... Id hate to get to the end and have like Sonic jump out.. although I guess that would make it a very valuable prototype all the same

I see many black people always in the stadiums for their club matches. it grew a lot in the past 20 years.
