Anyone still like playing this in the days leading up to Christmas? Great game for getting into the festive spirit IMO.

I use it more as a music CD at this time of year to be honest, I like the acapella track and a couple of the other jingles.

Starting playing it already. Absolutely love this game and the full regular Nights. Wonder what it would take to change the rest of the levels into the Christmas Nights style. Anyone have any thoughts?

One thing I have to ask about the game. When I originally bought a Saturn back in January 97. Christmas Nights came bundled with the system in a duel case. However, when I look on Ebay. All the ones I see being sold are in a paper case. Is the PAL duel case version of the game particularly rare?

Might of been something that Sega run off so it could be bundled in at the last moment to new consoles for shops like GAME or ToysRus. By this time Saturn and PSone were well established, PSone having the Demo One disc of course and maybe a magazine demo disc bundled in for good measure. And because of that Sega were willing to do anything to get something cool out there as it had done with Sega Rally and Panzer Dragoon demo's. By the sounds of it you were at the right place at the right time any way because I have only seen the cardboard sleeve one, mine came off a Saturn magazine.

I had to post in this before I forgot. I played Xmas Nights for the FIRST time believe it or not on Dec 25th. Im a huge Nights fan and a fan of anything Christmas so it was odd I never played it. I guess I just kept putting off getting a copy. I never had this sampler back in the day.
Nothing else can be said but amazing. The little movie intro and storyline they put in it was perfect for a small add-on. 1 level for each character was just fine. Its a perfect little package.
The game does everything Christmas themed perfectly. Music is amazing, the visuals are gorgeous with the Xmas trees and lights. The Nights Xmas costume works. The whole opening presents reward.
I didnt realize that playing the game on Dec 25th unlocked the Xmas mode until I played it the next day and it was back to normal. That was another really cool little feature they came up with.
Definitely a long over due new Xmas tradition for me.

I think it has a New Year's and Valentine's Day theme too. It would be really cool if it had Halloween too!

Christmas Nights really is a pretty unique package. Any extended session with it would get boring fast, but as an annual tradition it makes me smile year after year after year.

Yes being as its one level Id agree. But also I view it sorta like Charlie Brown Xmas or Rudolph. I like to watch them at least once a year. Xmas Nights is a must one play through a year. Ive been going back just to listen to the music of it the last couple days. It goes as compliment to the full Nights package that includes the original game. I was going through my old GameFan magazines today and I came across the one where they actually reviewed Christmas Nights. Full 2 page spread as well. All for a demo. Those guys always did stuff like that. I think they even reviewed Death Tank separate from Powerslave as well. Anyway they all gave it in the 95 range.

You guys ever see these? I know they made a Regular Nights, Elliot and Claris but I never knew they did an entire line of these for Christmas Nights. I would love have these but they are insanely rare/expensive. I saw just Xmas Nights go for $800+

Yeah it was my very own one you saw last time, it was quicker to ebay search than to take another picture at this time of year lol. Looks good standing in front of my Saturn games though.
