If you want a truly Horrible experience I fully recommend Hardcore 4x4. The frame rate on that mess is enough to give anyone nightmares.
But on a serious(ish) note, what have aliens got to do with Halloween?? I thought it was about ghosts and living dead, not general sci-fi! Perhaps it's an American thing I'm missing the point of.

I would suggest that Alien Trilogy feeds into the horror element of Halloween. There's nothing scarier than a xenomorph leaping out at you from nowhere. Which makes me want to give Alien Isolation another go. That game is shit scary.
On the Saturn side of things, I was thinking of giving D another go. Last time I played I got up to the circular room with passages leading in all sorts of directions.

I dunno. I've always thought that Invaders From Mars, War of the World's, and Invasion of the Body Snatchers fit right in with Halloween. Also, the infected humans in Area 51 look like zombies. Definitely a Halloween game for me.

I forgot to add Area 51 some how, one of my favorite light gun games.

I am considering picking up D or Enemy Zero for halloween. I haven't played any of them yet. Since I am not into "aliens" games, i think i am more into D at the moment. I've read that the game takes place in the castle/mansion which sound pretty cool. Could you tell me: is D a long game ? I mean, how many hours do i need to beat it ? Are the puzzles hard ? Are there any enemies on the way which i need to fight with ?

IIRC D is only a few hours long so it's a good candidate if you want something short. I've not played it myself but from what I've read it's not considered a difficult game. -edit- howlongtobeat.com/game.php?id=2134Seems it's even shorter!

I grabbed it on GOG the other week but the video is low resolution and heavily interlaced, I'm sure it'll look better on a TV.

Themed (Halloween) Sections:Shining the Holy Ark (Mansion in graveyard forgot the name) You mean the Aborigine Mansion. And yes - it is extremely halloween - the atmosphere, music and graveyard around in the deep forest... Definitely a good choice!

Loved that part so much back when I played it that I would sometimes go back to run around the mansion again. By that point the enemies were easy fodder.

Hey I was thinking that Space Hulk would be a good game to play on Halloween. I just think the Genestealers are kinda creepy and the ambiance of the games surroundings are scary as well. Thanks Cheers

If your after a tune or two on disc to play for Halloween, the Saturn games TILT and Bug 2 can come in handy for that.

I've just beaten D yesterday's night. Playing with my girl sitting next to me, we were solving the whole mystery and puzzles together. It was so much fun! Is Enemy Zero as good as D ? It should be, since it comes from the same creator. I was also thinking about picking up Mansion of Hidden Souls, since wiki tells me that the game plays almost like D. Is this game worth giving a try ?

Try Myst if you haven't done so already. There are no monsters that go bump in the night but it's one my woman enjoyed along side me till the very end.
