The Gundam Suit Side Story games are great though. I don't care much for mech games, but I enjoyed that trilogy.

I've gotten one by luck, and also when they are part of a party and I've killed their mates.
Honestly, I think that'll probably be fine. The dialogue is pretty random to get pokedemons that way, but I'm pretty sure I'll be able to get enough to get buy.
Thanks for the tips!

Has anybody played Devil Summoner?
I'm going through with a translation guide, but one thing it's missing is an explanation of just how the talk mechanic works. It just tells me to look out for a phrase, which means "recruit".
Is it like pokemon where you need them almost dead? Can you talk if there is a group? What is the best strategy for actually recruiting the demons?
I feel like that is going to be a central mechanic in the game so probably need to wrap my head around it straight away since I'm not having much look with early level pokedemons.

Welcome to the forums! Hope you enjoy it here! Since it's a Saturn forum, I suppose I'd better ask you what your top Saturn games are. What Saturn treasures do you adore?

The guy got back to me. It's a reproduction cover.
I am tempted, but the 2 feedback is putting me off.

Does Taromaru have a manual that is separate to the cd case inlay? This listing says that thee is no manual, yet usually the manual is also the front cover of the game.... and this game clearly has a front cover. Can someone confirm what is actually included? Perhaps this is a fake picture, or perhaps the inlay is a repro. Can't really tell. What do you think? link

I'm playing Lupin 3rd: Sage of Pyramid at the moment. It's like Tomb Raider, but with mini stages rather than a large stage. It's pretty cool. Clunky as hell, but I'm actually having less control issues so far than with Tomb Raider and, as such, I'm actually having more overall fun with it.
I'm only halfway through though, so we'll see if it starts getting silly later on.

How playable are Linkle Liver Story and MKR in Japanese?
I see LLS is grade B in the Japanese playability list, which surprised me.

Nah. A Gem is just a good game that Saturn owners should think about playing. Pandemonium is pretty cheap and the quality of the game is pretty damn good. The PSX version may be better (I don't know), but that hardly matters. I don't have a Playstation, and I imagine a lot of Saturn owners don't, so there's absolutely no reason to not mention a game because of that.
A Gem is a gem, regardless of system availability or whether one version may be slightly superior to another.

It's definitely a platformer. I haven't covered it in a Gems episode yet, but COE have covered it so have a look at that review to give you an indication as to what it's about.

Has anybody here had a chance to play either of the two games?
I've seen that there is a translation guide online for the first of the two (Devil Summoner), but haven't spotted anything for the other one. Is it playable for people who can't speak the language?
I've never played an SMT game before, but I've heard many people loosely describe it as Pokemon with demons, which sounds like my bag. If the guide can help enough to get to grips with all the different demons and how to capture / battle then I think I would enjoy it. Following the story would be nice, but to be honest I'd be satisfied with just grasping the general idea.

Well, I've started playing Pandemonium and .... yeah, I dig it. I've been putting it off because I wasn't sure that I would like it, fearing it would be another kinda average platformer, but it's not. The graphics look really pretty, especially in 2.5D glory, and the music is awesome. The gameplay is also pretty solid too, although they seem a bit stingy on lives. I'm constantly starting a new level with 1 or 0 extra lives and ultimately game over, having to restart the stage from scratch. The two initial heart containers don't help either, since they're easily lost.
But apart from those beefs, it seems pretty cool.
