I fancy Power Drift myself. Haven't got it yet. Power Drift is ace, really nice GP mode in that too.

Ah...that's OK. If that's the case he might be better putting an announcement on his site. When you order something you have enter card details etc and he really shouldn't have that active if he's not using it as a channel. Only saying that because his service was so good and he was really quick at acknowledging orders and getting them processed. Anyhow - glad to hear he is OK. He's on the channel but you're better off phoning rather than using e-mails. I've never known him not to answer or take phone calls

Sure some do it for the 100% authentic experience but I'd argue that the Saturn still has loads of good exclusives. I would always look to play the best version of any game and no way is the Saturn coming out of my setup. If you were thinking emulators, well they are great and all but have their issues too. It's always nice to have options and even if you're buying a PAL game simply for your collection it's always nice to have the option to give it a test play, even if only intend to play briefly. I agree its always nice to have every avenue open to you for whatever system you love and cheeriest the most, nothing beats the real hardware more so when it comes to some of the different gamepads for the various systems. And you also never know when you might see a Pal game going for cheap.

Discworld 2 I guess you could play easily on any PC now but I remember I had a friend absolutely gushed about Jonah Lomu Rugby, he thought it was amazing. If you like Rugby that's definitely one to check out. Not sure how the Saturn version compares to the PS1 version though? With a PC you could play almost any game better than a Saturn or PS these days. I don't think that applies to people who are switches their system to get the old true experience . Jonah is like the Rugby version of Sensible just perfect controls and playability. The Saturn version doesn't look as good as the PS but wins out for control and the better button placement. The issues is when on the Saturn played at 60hz you get more slowdown, especially with weather effects. Its there at 50Hz but nowhere near as bad. World League Soccer 98 is another gem of a game that only came for the Saturn in Pal and while you can play in 60 Hz. The freezes at points and the 3D map isn't displayed right, maybe some are looking to get Tomb Raider in English on the Saturn and the Pal version is cheaper but you get issues at 60 Hz. America Saturn stuff is just going for crazy money at the moment Plus if you're looking to collect games, you never know and get luck to see someone selling Pal stuff quite cheap in a car boot sale or what not. I can understand why some will want a 50/60 Hz Saturn

You should be glad they aren't 50Hz. The launch Grey models were a pain, not sure now. There were some games that only came out in Pal land and were actually quite good. Like Discworld 2 and Jonah Lomu Rugby and which despite what some say, don't play correctly at 60 Hz. Also back in the 90's it was nice to actually buy games from your local shop or the likes of gameplay to save money, which the big reason I looked to have a double switch fitted but it couldn't be done and just got a Pal Mark 1 Saturn and had that double switched fitted no issues.

You are better offer just phoning him these days, I don't think he bother's much with emails or messenger these days. I miss the day of Dreammachines/Dreamware with Lee and Antony and James Good times

This hasn't been true for a long time, not on Ebay at least. Trying to remember when I bought my grey mk1 on eBay.... it was very cheap. Maybe that was 18months-2 years ago now I suppose. Got it for £35 + postage. The early Grey models were a pain to get a 50 Hz switch fitted too.

I can't believe these games arent more highly rated. Definitely some of the best I've played in the 32 bit era. I quite agree, both very good games. It's only the lack of save points and the insane difficulty that lets the games down

Everyone raves for SFIII (and rightly so) but I do love Holy Ark. Holy Ark features a much better story for me and I found it much easier to get into and was for the best gaming in the series since the 1st game on the MD. I also enjoyed Dark Saviour if it never really felt like a RPG and more like a platform adv game with some remarkable Saturn graphics . I also really enjoyed Magic Knight Ray earth and found that to be a wonderful RPG; I was so gutted when WD dropped their planned translation of Lunar on the Saturn (thanks Bernie).

Holy Ark is superb and often missed by some. Agreed for me it's the best in the Shining series and an amazing RPG in its own right. I also love Albert Odyssey a charming little RPG with amazing music

Third party cards can have different PCBs and different contents, some have bootable code (compression for higher block count, region unlock, cheat engine, RAM expansion, any combination of them). The official carts all have the same board thickness, ram carts, rom carts, backup cards, everything, probably even the developer cards. It's an industry standard thickness. But some third party cards did not adhere to it as strictly due to being shoddy Chinese workmanship. Either way the problem isn't the third party cards being thicker (the difference is negligible), the problem is that they did not have the connector edges sanded down. The PCB pins had sharp square endings, and this makes the PCB push the copper pins in the connector downwards, bending and dislocating/breaking them. Official cards have the PCB edge sanded into a triangular shape, so they wedge in and push the pins sideways, applying less or no downwards force. That's why third party cards can be dangerous, not because they are thicker. Also the cart pins are very thin so even minimal dirt is enough to cause contact errors. You need to clean the cartridge edges every once in a while. This is true for all of them. Not quite the case for Datel, well at least in the UK .Datel manufactured their cards In-House at their UK warehouse, but their quality was never has good and the Cart side was that little bigger , this was much the same case for their CDX line of Mega CD carts

Here are the Memory cards I still have The Pal and Japanese official ones are exactly the same size and are all region and work on any Saturn, much the same for the 3rd Party Japanese one I have. The Datal 8-Meg one, on the other hand, isn't the same size and unlike the Offical one isn't recognised in games (much like with the 4 Meg Action replay) and you can only save to the card, via the Saturn memory screen

I've heard good things about side pocket 3. I'm not into snooker games, but that one sorta interests me now from the good press it gets! Its really nice with nice solid 3D graphics and decent ball physics and the music is catchy and funky

MOST SURPRISING Side Picket 3 - Picked this up on the cheap my Import show and was impressed with the nice 3D visuals fab music and the Resident Evil like setting
BEST MUSIC Souky - Stage 2 music is still the best
