I didn't think the Dreamcast output raw sync to be honest, though I'm not totally sure. The fact that you're not getting a picture from it on the LKV362 does suggest that the unit's only processing composite.
The picture quality on your HDTV is probably what you can expect from a HDTV. Remember most Dreamcast games are 480i not 240p when run through SCART.
Why don't you just use VGA for your Dreamcast btw?

You should at least get RGB out of it, even if they changed the processing chips since Fudoh reviewed it.

Your capture solution doesn't support 240p.
As I said in another thread, wait about a week I'm working on something that won't cost the earth (under £150).

Definitely faulty, might be worth swapping it for another one.
Anyway, if you can hold on for about a week, I should have details of another capture solution I'm putting together. Total cost should be under £150.

I never realised they were that versatile.

Next best thing is probably the little Hama switch then, but they can be quite expensive for what they are.

I might have some exciting news on this topic myself in a week or so, got bits on order so will keep you all posted.

Retro Console Accessories are brilliant, they do RAW sync ones NTSC cables too, if they are out of stock they will have them back in again in a week or two. Best cables I've ever ordered.

£110? Scart only model goes for about £40, shop around.

The SCART only model was the best switch I'd ever reviewed pretty much, even having less noise on the very noisy PS2 component video signal.

That's not the one I reviewed, but I see no reason why it wouldn't perform as well. The SCART only model has more SCART sockets, depends what you need.

I doubt you'd burn anything down with those kinds of voltages but I can't imagine it's doing the console any good. The way SCART switches are being discontinued left right and centre I'm tempted to grab a THOR switch while I can, really is a lovely, lovely switch.

How much would what cost?
Debatable, depends on what you're attaching the Saturn to.
You're pretty much bang on with this. I've even seen enough voltage leak through a cheaper SCART switch to power on my SNES with the AC adaptor unplugged. Not the kind of thing you want to do to your vintage consoles. The better non-powered switches should isolate each socket too, but of course they cannot amplify/boost the signal like the powered ones can.
