The Saturn version is still worth a play and is still good. I love the extra Pink car and the remixed music tracks. Daytona USA CE is a nice game, but it doesn't play, look, sound or feel like the Saturn AM#2 or Model 2 game. They changed the handling and the AI is totally different too. I do like the 360 version too mind, if for no other reason than I can use my Force Feedback wheel with it

Going against the trend here, if you can get Daytona on the PS3 the don't bother with the Saturn version at all. As others have mentioned the pop up and terrible draw distance are shambolic. Save your money and get something else. This notion of the Saturn version still worth owning when there is a better alternative out there makes no sense at all. Having purchased the PS3 version, I never went back to the Saturn version at all. When it comes to playing Daytona in its orignal incarnation the PS3 and XBox 360 HD remastered ports render the Saturn version of Daytona USA obsolete, but Daytona USA: Championship Circuit Edition on the Saturn is still worth playing because its so radically different, it's aged much better than the first Daytona game on the system from a graphical and gameplay standpoint. The extra tracks do not warrant a purchase for me, nor do the extra cars. They're really nothing to write home about. Personally I don't think any of the 3 Saturn versions of Daytona have aged particularly well. The one I still own is JPN Circuit Edition as that's the best one for me but even then I never play it. There are just far too many other Saturn racers I'd rather play. I also do a lot of Daytona on the PS3 with 5 other users on a regular so going back to Saturn Daytona is painful. I recently turned on CE as I had just got a memory cart and wanted to check what the Daytona ghost car looked like for the first time and within 5 minutes I knew I never wanted to play any Saturn version of Daytona ever again. Will probably sell my copy of CE but I'm just being lazy at the moment.

I'm the same. I had all 3 versions of Daytona at one point but once I got the 360 version, all Saturn versions of Daytona became redundant so they all got sold off as I couldn't justify owning them anymore. No longer having to tolerate the terrible draw distance in all 3 versions was such a bonus.

It is nice to hear that many different opinions. I can agree that it must be quite difficult to get back to the Saturn orginal if you have played the HD Version too much.
But i can also understand that the Saturn Version has certain Appeal which makes it still worth playing in this day and age.
As I said I want to get for collecting purposes anyway if I can find it cheap. And when I have it I can play it as well.
How advanced the Saturn Version of Daytona btw? Is it among the technically best Racing games on the Saturn or are there technically better games out there?
What do you guys think?
