My copy of JPN Outrun arrived today. In great condition. However the seller has sent me the wrong version. I specially asked him check the code on the disc for the revised version that ends with the letter A. That's what is required for the mk2 white Saturn. He obviously didn't bother. What a pain. Going to have to return this to Japan now for a refund. If it ends with letter A that's a model 1 version surely. I'm pretty sure the letter has to be K or later for it to work on model 2's. P1'A' to P1C is too early, it would need to be a P1K or latter for it to work on a white model 2. P1A is so common, I doubt that's for Model 2. I could be wrong though. All I know is mine was a P1K and I have a white model 2.

Oh well, in all craziness I bought a copy of Delisoba Deluxe. Have no idea what I'm gonna do with this one, is it really super-rare-super-sought-after ?

I would have found out the answer to that before spending £500+ on a CD, but that's just me. But yes as far as I've heard over the years it's expensive because of its sheer rarity. Certainly not because it's a quality sought after game.

I've struggled to find a rom of Delisoba online. It would be good if you could provide a dump of it

Oh well, in all craziness I bought a copy of Delisoba Deluxe. Have no idea what I'm gonna do with this one, is it really super-rare-super-sought-after ? Ah, was it through an eBay auction? Me and a few friends were watching a listing the other day, went for an okayish price. It's not really rare or sought after, just expensive. It's price causes curiosity. Disclaimer IMHO Nah, it's also quite rare. It's not a brilliant game or anything, but copies were only given to contestants (and possibly audience members) of the show it was played on. Given that, there are a very limited number in the world potentially. But, I would agree too, I think the price adds to the rare factor. I don't think it's extremely sought after either. I've struggled to find a rom of Delisoba online. It would be good if you could provide a dump of it If you hop onto the SegaNet Discord server, someone there should be able to hook you up with a copy in the #saturn channel. The Server is owned by the Youtuber "Saturn Memories". discord.gg/FgWBaS7.

Huuum, being a total jerk with my PC will not help me with this one. Can detail how I'd proceed, all of this on a Linux machine on which I cannot install anything :
- how do I extract the iso ? - how do I host it to the internet ?
As for the rarity of the game, I hope it is indeed rare, any idea of how many copies were done ?
EDIT : because Tongara's post : less than 20 copies you say ? I'm shocked, I'd have say more in the 500-1000 range.
And no I did not get it from the recent ebay auction, had a Gixen set for it, but Gixen's server went down at the final moments ! In any case, I had put a price lower than what it went for.

In my above comment I've directed him to where he should be able to grab a copy (Saturn Memories SegaNet Discord server), so hopefully that is sorted soon. It was shared in there a few months ago from my memory. They are quite good about sharing stuff in there, so they may well share it again. As for how many copies, it's hard to say, but as above it was only given to contestants of the show it was played on and -POSSIBLY- audience members, making the number very limited. It's not the rarest ever Saturn game by far, but it's up there in the rare list for sure! I edited my comment about 20 copies because that was just an estimate on my part, and I actually meant to write "200", but my Keyboard sucks. It could be more or less than that, but it was given out in limited numbers and never for general sale, so it was better to say "very limited numbers" than a random number pulled out of my backside. heh But, 500-1000 copies sounds a bit too high for this (to me, anyway) due to the limited way this game was given out. It's not uncommon to see this game go for stupid prices. Then again, maybe 500-1000 copies is in the right ballpark. I'm not sure if it's possible to know, sadly. I know it's not an especially difficult game to get, especially in Japan, but the price is more of an issue, I guess.

For me with rarity, a copy shouldn't be readily available.
So the NA Sega Saturn Cleaning Kit I once owned is rare.
Rare should be rare not something you or I can buy immediately.
It's just verbiage, 😁

It's just verbiage, 😁 Eh, I kinda get where you're coming from, but it's not constantly available and with currently just 1 listing on eBay and 1 on Yahoo Japan it's not like there is a copy for everyone to easily just get one... obviously, part of that is also to do with price. Is it available enough, though? Sure. Hard disagree with your point of view, though, as I consider your definition to be on the "super rare" or "very rare" side. I'd put the NA Sega Saturn Cleaning Kit on that scale, even though it was sold in good numbers at retail at one point... so, do we knock off "Rare" points for that? The Clockwork Knight Sample CD I posted earlier is also on that scale, as it's almost never put up for sale (I've only seen it once personally, and most don't know of it's existence), and I only know of two other people with it, it would have only been given to places to review/demonstrate the game, etc. Again though, the contents of the CD are the same as the final retail version, so even if it's a scarce CD then and now, do we knock off points for that, too? It seems like a complicated issue if we overthink it, imo. Maybe reclassifying things like Delisoba Deluxe to be on the "rarer" side rather than explicitly "rare" is a better idea, or having the terms "rare" and "super/very rare" used better. Each to their own, though, I suppose. It's always nice to see other points of view~

Bought an almost mint copy of Burning Rangers from a Cex in Brixton this weekend, probably overpriced but it's a piece of nostalgia and hopefully investment for future

Rare and grail are overused by collectors nowadays imho. I guess I like the uncommon. For laughs I'm heading to eBay and searching "rare" to see if thousands or hundreds of thousands of items show up! Almost 4.9 million rare items available to USA buyers. On topic, I've been snagging Saturn games but I'm waiting til everything arrives to post pics.

I just bought Quake, the last game I needed.
Now I'm missing a few manuals that aren't being done by the repro person on eBay...yet, hopefully.
