Actually it's advised to stick it only halfway through. It's still connected and there's less risk in damaging the cartridge slot.

With me it's just the opposite... I hardly have to push mine in at all (I have to apply some pressure, but not as much as you might think). It may just be your system's pins.
Edited because of being ninja'd...

Can you guys help me out? My action replay plus is action weird aswell, it desn't boot the action replay part anymore, nor the ST Key. The ram part still works, I can still play the games that require ram, but I can't acess the memory management because it's on the action replay boot up, but I think it's screwed aswell because once I was playing and the game froze, the action replay boot screen wasn't loading, I fiddled with the cartridge and it started working again, but all my saves were deleted, and now it simply refuses to boot up. I tested it on my japanese saturn and nothing aswell. Have you guys ever encoutered such problem of the ram part of the cartridge working but the rest not?

You'll likely need to reflash it. I've had a few ARs act up like that, reflashing saved them... it deletes all saves on the cart, though.

How do I do that? The saves are all gone anyway.

I got atlas working, how do I do a Reflash? I can't find any guide online. Sorry if I'm being annoying, I'm a Sega Saturn noob yet.
EDIT----------
I managed to make the reflash, the action replay is working again! BUT now the memory manager isn't working, at least not on the action replay boot, when I try to copy a game to the action replay I get this error: "ERROR!!! COULD NOT SAVE" Do I need to do something on the Atlas to fix the memory manager aswell?

a detailed instructions for flashing but in french saturn.netboarder.com/t2115-tuto-flasher-une-action-replayand you should clean the cartridge slot with a toothbrush and this type of product: SPRAY kontakt60 and latest news: the manufacturer seems to have forgotten that some games only accept 1M ram and refuse 4M So 4 games ram1M no longer work with the latest action replay!

From what I remember, the 4in1 works fine with ALL the SNK games.
Like you've already suggested, it's only when using the 4MB cart that you have to be careful of corrupt gfx etc...

Kof '96 works fine with my Action Replay 4-in-1, I'd imagine that you'll likely encounter no problems either. So what are you waiting for - fire up the game already!!

I'm surprised to see people saying that their AR works fine with all the SNK games. Mine definitely does not. KoF '96 has graphical glitches with my AR (albeit the game is still playable and the glitches are somewhat sporadic). By contrast, '97 doesn't have those glitches using the AR.
Maybe different ARs have different results? I don't know which exact version mine is.
