Yup, I'm still at it, just too lazy to update. It gets harder because of the considerable backlog, as I'm still saving images.
I'd like to see the board types of that Samsung Saturn and the v-Saturn confirmed, if you are willing to take them apart.

Sure thing, they're easily accessible right near the front of my unit, I'll grab those two out...

Here's the Samsung, I'll grab the V-Saturn during the week. Higher resolution pics in a .rar file for you here: www.filedropper.com/samsatOpening screen lacking JP language option: SHOCK!!!! It has the LED extenders and reset switch rod! (my other Samsung unit has neither!) This unit of course has the 110v-220v power supply so plug and play here in the UK! Bottom of the CD board: Motherboard: Closeup:

Thanks a lot. Seems it's a normal VA1 like all the other Samsung Saturns I've seen.
I wonder if there is any hardware difference between SPC-ST, SPC-ST2, SPC SATURN, and SPC SATURN II...

From memory my other Samsung units motherboard looks the same except bizzarely all the text on the chips is blacked over so they all look blank.
I can't tell you if it boots up the same as the motherboard is dead.

Regarding Samsung Saturns, they are stock VA1 Japanese units in a different case, jumpered to region 2 (Japanese machines use region 1), and using a different bios (v1.02a). They also have a 110-220v power supply.
The bios is missing the Japanese language only when it detects regioncode 2 being used. Otherwise the option is there - machines modded to American region or so will have the Japanese language present.
The led and reset sticks SHOULD be there. But I heard that people take awful care of videogames in Korea, so it's possible that they just don't put them back in after opening the system. Possibly because it's a bit annoying to put the top back on so it perfectly lines up with the switch and both leds.

I heard that people take awful care of videogames in Korea In the nicest possible way, that ties in very well with the condition of items I've had from Korea in the past. They usually look like they've been chewed up and shit out.

Zyrobs, is it true Saturn model 2s have a better video output? Read it on this site, which seems dubious so I have to ask. retrorgb.com/saturncompare.htmlDidn't want to create a new thread for this because I'm sure it will be an easy answer... I mentioned this many times before with complete justification for my reasoning... Please excuse me for not typing down all of those again (it takes a while and I'm updating the serials at this very moment), instead I'll just quickly summarize them... that article is horse shit.

List updated, 2404 entries now online (added a good 450 entries).
And I still haven't touched the backlog of PAL and USA serials!
