With every cartridge I open them up and use the super fine nail polishing stick to file all sides and edges of the circuit board pin. So far haven't had any issue with all my 6 Saturn consoles since 99.

Since my Japanese copy runs on my M2 Saturn console guess this means mine is rare reprint issue?

it's easier with M2 console. I swapped the PSU with AU 240V version on the JP motherboard and the EU bottom shell and the white JP top shell. (just make sure the pins on the board match with the slots on the PSU.)

from what I heard n read Saturn has a particularly good S-Video output compared to other consoles in the same generation. of coz it's not up to the RGB but apparently it's quite close unlike other consoles...

I have had 3 ARP carts and with all of them I opened the carts and filed the edge of pin connector using the ultra fine nail polishing stick before reassembled the carts. Never have an issue.

sadly that's the only one that's capable of what you are asking. X-Terminator was made not just for Saturn but for other consoles so there could be English translated user guide for other console(s) on the Net?

I believe only the Gun griffon 2 had the Twin Stick support. Like Gundam Side Story 1 missed out and only 2 and 3 supported the Twin Stick.

well it all come down to what's your priority and how much you are willing to spend. there are people who don't mind to spend 300+ for the Framemeister while there are others who just cannot justify the cost no matter how many ways you look at. I'm in the later and with all the short comings this cheap converter does what I needed and that's all I need. Sure I do have the RGB Scart => YUV converter which works surprisingly well but I cannot be bothered to go through all my old stuff in the attic to find it when I just want to play the game in 5 min I can spare. maybe when I get around to build my retro video game mancave when I retire...

I use the same one on my Dell PC monitor's HDMI input. Not sure whether this being PC monitor but don't notice any lag of sort compared to when on the CRT via Composite...

official or not when I get the Saturn memory carts I always open and clean the cart pins as well as sanding the edge of the circuit board around the cart pin using the ultra fine nail polishing stick. Haven't had any issue so far.

sounds like the laser is on its way out... probably not a bad idea to replace it if you can get access the spare part.

like said previously since it's not working it won't hurt to reflash with the original APR 4-1 firmware.

open the cart shell and give a good n gentle rubbing along the slot pins using the ultra fine nail polishing stick. I use this method over alcohol nowadays with all the cart. This way I recovered quite few N64 and MD carts.

It was poor(?) attempt by Naki for Saturn. I played with this one as well as Saturn Japan's cordless pad and even both were using the IR the Sega one worked much better.
