No SN since there's no sticker but I guess the MB rev 837-11076 & 171-6874C MAIN VA0 should put it as very early Saturn console?

there's lightgun using the sensor strips around the screen - like Wii does.

There was the NeoGeo arcade at the university cafeteria I attended. Must have spent countless hours and coins And only game available on it was Metal Slug!

recently won the PAL copy of Frankenstein: Through the Eyes of the Monster for Saturn. seem the case and all are in very good shape. I know it's not one of great FMV titles released on Saturn but I've been looking for a long time at more reasonable price.

I thought with JPN Saturn you need the neutrally wired RGB Scart cable, not PAL RGB Scart cable. Certainly with my host of JPN Saturns they only worked when I used the proper cable, not the PAL RGB Scart cable.

Phantasmagoria! Man that brings the memories... I had the review copy of Mac version and few days later our then Classification Board refused the classification meaning the game was banned from selling in Australia. By the way I think getting CD-i with much sought after MPEG module just for FMV titles is rather silly given the cost involved. If you can get one cheap by all means but usually it's the opposite nowadays. It'd be more economical to go with the 3DO although some FMV titles cost silly amounts.

Get below converter as well as PAL RGB Scart cable for your PAL Saturn. CKITZE BG-460 HDMI/SCART PAL System to NTSC HDMI Digital Audio Video Converter and connect the converter to your OLED HDTV via its HDMI input. For the price the improvement will be huge.

[update] It works brilliantly! on my Dell PC Monitor via its HDMI input 702p@60hz looks gorgeous. Had blast playing Metal Slug, G Vector, Hyper Dual, Thunder Force V to name a few with my region/freq mod Japanese white M2 Saturn with the blue 4MB RAM cart... I do have SONY PVM monitor but Dell PC Monitor is more convenient as not only it supports HDMI input also has Component, Composite as well as VGA so I can play Dreamcast as well as Xbox/PS2/GabeCube.

I've heard it might be do with the game needing to use the 1mb ram expansion instead of the 4mb expansion. that's interesting. Two nights ago I played my copy of Metal Slug and since I have bunch of 4MB RAM carts I used one and it ran beautifully. Didn't noticed any noticeable lag of sort? Even on NeoGeo arcade certain parts were slightly lagged so didn't think there were any difference from short play I did but then I didn't get to the final boss.

I bought this RGB Scart cable. According to the seller this one should work on the NTSC-J Saturn and output the same signal as it comes out of PAL Saturn to be used with the RGB->HDMI converter which expects the RGB signal from PAL Saturn, not RGB-J21 from Japanese Saturn. Anyhow, once I receive shall give it a spin... www.ebay.com/itm/161426025685

while browsing I came across an interesting article. www.segagagadomain.com/hardware-sat/modem.htm"A bit of pointless trivia for you. The Japanese Saturn modem was a sad 14kbps modem while the US one was 33kbps. Victor (JVC) also made a few prototype modems to sell alongside their V-Saturn however they pulled the plug on the idea probably after seeing how poorly Sega's modem was received." Now I know where my JVC Saturn modem came from. It must be one of few JVC prototypes they sold before they pulled the plug. JVC modem is more like American Netmodm with the no charge card slot unlike the Japanese Saturn Modem.

I picked up Gundam Side Story 1-3 in the cardboard sleeves for just under £15. I know the volume 2 and 3 support the Saturn Twin Stick controller. However sadly the volume 1 does not. At least I haven't been able to use the controller with it.
