Ouch, that really indicates the spiraling cost of Saturn games, my first complete PAL collection was put togeather in the early 00's when Saturn stuff was about as sought after as dog shit, I sold that for I think around £2,500, although I sold the guy a lod of other stuff to so that's an approximate figure for just the Saturn bits.
I dont really keep track of costs that well, laregly to hide them from my wife, but the 2nd complete PAL collection (every title+all PAL hardware boxed) probably set me back around the £3k mark to complete.
I'm pretty careful when buying though, I'm perfectly willing to wait a long while and get things for a good price, PD Saga for free is easilly the best so far, but I've picked up some of the rarer PAL titles from car boot sales and charity shops for next to nothing.

This year I've spent $0 so far, and I've been enjoying the games I spent all that money on instead of letting them sit on the shelf and letting myself get too overwhelmed to the point that I don't know what to play first. (I'm a player, not a collector) i'm pretty much doing the same thing at the moment, partly because i lost my £40 a week job, so am now only on £30 (all of which used to go on games at...), partly because i've stopped going to carbootsales as my sundays are busier, but also because i pretty much filled up my room and realised that a lot of the shit i had meant nothing to me and i probably had no intention of playing (popstar maker for ps1? seriously? just because it's 50p and mint doesn't mean i want it...). and mick, don't get me wrong, that £2000-3000 has got me one of every mainstream console except for the PS3, over 250 ps2 games, over 150 ps1 games, 60 saturn games, and a large collection for numerous other consoles. now that i've bought them, all i have got to do is play them... :/

Recently there seems to be a trend of retro stuff actually coming down in price slightly in and around Tokyo. Will wonders never cease? I guess it may be due to all the digital download options for ROMs or on live accounts.
Im planning a big blow out on games when my brother gets here in June.
