Don't go fooling your self Doom Saturn is remotely playable. I've done it a 100 times!! I love DOOM and will forever more and that's what makes it so hard not to put Saturn Doom on now and then. Your always hoping but it really is a broken game. You can storm any map with just the shot gun, even the fist with some degree and walk out alive. The AI can not keep up with you moving about on the map because the code runs that slow. If you don't believe me and want to see some action quick then start Doom 2 and the second map will slow down to a crawl and BANG, BANG, BANG you can run mayhem Rambo style on the hardest setting and survive. Honestly it is a broken game. Something of the same style made after Doom is Hexen and that's a way better port, tho indeed I wish it was around the other way sometimes. They really let us Saturn gamers down with DOOM.

Greetings from the UK. It's always nice to have a chat about the past and if truth be told the Saturn is my all time fav so out of the blue I started having a sniff about this week at saturn stuff on the web and came across this site and some of the discussions look interesting. The collection is more than just Sega Saturn tho, I play Megadrive, Mega CD, 32X and of course Dreamcast. I also continued the faith going on to xbox1 and XBOX360 so I am a real Sega Nut, and what makes it even more worse is that I am ANTI SONY, tho some things on PSone were cool. Up until about September 2011 I was playing my 360 very regularly but because of illness I started playing my old stuff again to make my self feel better. I had a good lash on the Megadrive over the autumn months but come word of the XBOX 360 version of Daytona USA I fired up my Dreamcast and Sega Saturn in readiness for the big release on 360! Yeah Daytona USA on 360 is cool and I have been loving it large, but what it really did was reminded me of BETTER times that I have been longing for. You guessed it, it was Sega Saturn. Since the new year I have been playing my Saturn loads and my 360 is collecting dust rapidly. I always played my old machines now and then but to play them this much with no care for anything else and not even XBOXLiVE is heaven. ;D Tho you don't know me, I best say that I'm a bit of a die hard but in a very different way! As example I will tell you the original release of Daytona USA is awesome and that's more down to me understanding what makes it tick because I play it hardcore seriously, but in the other hand I can not understand the love for say Nights or the fuss over Panzer Dragoon Saga among other things as I feel they are over rated - but that's me... You know, Landstalker & Dark Savior is more my thing and to be honest I was sick of Mega CD FMV games that by the time Panzer Dragoon was released, (Awesome display of gfx I will say) it just did not interest me the way it should of. I'm more your arcade type with a mixture of other things from Quake to BUG! and think my self as a more serious gamer as it were in a different way because of what I play and how I play. Yes 20fps Dayonta USA does me proud as it did the day I bought it! What do I have? I have my original MK1 Saturn which is still going strong and love it to death, 3D pad, Steering wheel + 30 odd games. I also have a Mk2 NTSC/PAL 50hz/60hz all 3 regions switched Saturn just for 3 games and those games are Power Drift, Galaxy Force II & Capcom's Ghost'n'Goblins Collection. Anyways that's part me... Chow 4 now.
