Does everyone know about this project ? "Hello! I'm James a.k.a Professor Abrasive: creator of the Drag'n'Derp Gameboy cart, and the device du jour: the Saturn Satiator. The Satiator is a plug-in card for the Sega Saturn which can boot games from a USB thumb drive or hard drive". "I've been working on this project in my spare time since 2014. There have been a lot of breaks when life got busy - but now I've decided it's time to bring this project home! The ultimate goal is to release the Satiator: a card that brings USB booting to the Sega Saturn. This will be something you can buy and hold and plug in and use to keep your game archive alive through disc rot and laser aging - or even develop new homebrew software". www.patreon.com/prof_abrasive/overview

It's pretty clean signal and much sharper than standard composite cables however my main issue is finding s-video cables that don't have any loud analogue noise buzzing so I went with decent sync on luma RGB cable from retrogamingcables.co.uk where the buzzing is significantly reduced along with any noise artefacts that was appearing in the audio to the point where I was wondering "do I need to recap my Saturn's capacitors"?.
my play through of lunar 2 eternal blue on sega Saturn was hooked s-video to elgato game capture. I had to edit out the buzzing especially on those white blank screens or even FMV scenes. Compared to non emulated sega Saturn youtube vids I thought the image was decent especially when you factor the youtube compression.

Not aware of any issues using Wii and RGB, but component gives you 480p which is better anyway. Might depend on how you have set up the wii tv type too and on the OSSC I had to change the 480p /577p proc to passthru in output opt. Muramasa the demon blade intro - wii via component. No scanlines

For the wii console I use component. scanline strength 37%, line 2x, 480p passthru
I couldn't get a signal for wii using RGB and I suspect I might have to tweak some settings on the ossc for it to work. Saturn and pc engine I have no problems although I had to make some changes to the ossc for sega saturn 480i games.

noticed another issue now.. which needs some investigating. I don't know if the Saturn has issues with jailbars but there are some vertical lines that I noticed on some of my pics. Kurosawa's suit below it really shows. Going to reset to the factory settings but I did a lot of messing around with the OSSC. Got it sorted. I was playing around with the sampling phase pics after reverting some settings

What did you change exactly? Defaults should work fine. Possibly may have changed 480i Line3X (laced) mode to something..there's too many options I was messing with I can't remember exactly what it was. Also I got an old-ish 50" panny plasma tv

Testing a few other games I seems to have problems with 480i games such as dead or alive too since I mostly left everything at default. My tv supports 2x line mode. EDIT Think I got it sorted now. Have to play around with the settings but on default people will have problems.

Definitely with Grandia both the opening FMVs that lasts a few minutes each it's just a blank screen, the audio comes across fine but you don't get any picture till the title screen appears or in game starts. I'm guessing I have to play around with the OSSC just for this title.

www.retrogamingcables.co.uk/sega/saturnI recently got an RGB cable from the above guys. Not sure if it's placebo but it seems the audio on FMV clips sound cleaner? Bunch of FMVs I tested out. Sadly Grandia intro and Biohazard/Resident Evil intro don't seem to like the OSSC. I goofed up a bit on some editing bits, ah well..

It's pretty good. I used to have a sony BVM which I got off ebay but after using heavily for a couple of months the picture went very faded and greenish and then it died. So the OSSC is a lot more convenient.
I did a comparison vid of pc engine via component and RGB
The thing about component is that I am getting this slight light greenish hue that appears at the top and bottom of the screen. RGB has no complaints.
Component on left. RGB on Right side.

that's what it looks like on my TV when I max strength the scanlines. Although I'm still trying to figure out stuff on there. STHA. The scanlines are just at default but using the +/- to reduce/increase the strength. pc engine via component connection

That's the PSU I took out the fuse on the PSU and replaced it. Powered it up and Saturn was running fine for a few hours while playing a game then it powered off. It's been suggested that my Saturn may be over heating.
