So I've been replaying Shining in the Holy Ark. It's been playing fine these last few days but today it begins to cut power.
My Saturn is : UK Model 2 Pal modded to 60hz with switch for JPN/USA and UK regions.
When I power it up and game has loaded, after a few minutes of play the power cuts. I can wait another few minutes and the Saturn can power on again but once the game has loaded and a few minutes in, the console cuts out again.
I tried changing the fuse in the UK plug several times but I don't think it's the plug fuse.
Has anyone had a similar issue and was able to sort it out themselves ?

Just seen this. Indeed this is one of the better Saturn FMV videos. How does the game play? I think it's decent. if you are familiar with Genki racing games such as their Dreamcast; Tokyo xtreme/highway battle this is basically an earlier iteration of it. I quite enjoyed playing it with the arcade racing wheel. The Saturn game features this guy: Keiichi Tsuchiya who used to be a professional race car driver and was known as the drift king..

USA version of Fighters Megamix is censored from JPN/UK particularly some still shots of Honey and Tokio. UK version of the Parodius pack, the eagles are censored and their colour change is now green feathers instead of brown. Also the japanese version of athlete kings has an hidden additional character. I also hear that the voices during the battles of Shining Force were dumbed down in the west but this is just a rumor and I've never looked into this. RE Fighters Megamix This image was changed for USA as was her name.

Cotton 2 just because it is technically quite brilliant using all sorts of 2D magic. Konami should have asked Success to reprogram the Saturn version of Akumajo Dracula X SoTN. Sengoku Blade is fine but personally I don't find anything special apart from it just looks and plays nice. Sol Divide I don't like that much.

1) Sexy Parodius - great graphics, music and playability 2) Twinkle star sprites - Saturn has a decent port, extra character and anime intro for what it's worth. 3) Game Tengoku - This is pretty decent but I found I had to play around with the settings to make the game more playable, on it's default settings I found it not much fun. The levels are very interesting and varied but then it's getting a port for ps4 and steam I think.

I need to replay Dark Saviour but replaying again and again to see slightly different scenarios got a bit repetitive and I felt it slightly cheapened the way they tried to make a very short action game into a lengthy one.. but that was years ago maybe my attitude will change.
I quite like Story of Thor 2/L o Oasis 2 but the music was pretty sparse and I got stuck somewhere in the middle of the game after taking a break from it I honestly had no idea where I was at in the game so gave up. It's somewhat lengthy and I guess it depends on your patience whether you can complete it.
hmmmmm your call.

they used to be up... Well a playthough. I think I was the first to upload them back about 2006 till someone from what appears to be from SEGA made a complaint and got a lot of us banned for copyright stuff... I'm currently slowly replaying the game again and uploading what I can. My main complaint about those mpegs are they seem to be very soft and contrast is a bit too low for my liking. But anyway good luck if you can make them better. It's always nice to see the Saturn versions of the Lunar games especially the audio.

Was kinda hoping there would be a thread on hidden saturn racers that are decent... This is a really old thread but I too just recently found out about this game. Wonder why it was never covered by Official Sega Saturn mag? Although the steering is too responsive and you really have to master drifting in this game I really do like the characters and music. But I wish they could have offered a better training mode to help teach the drifting mechanics for the main meat of the game. The 3D engine isn't bad but not quite as good as shutokoh racing 97 Pressing the drift button and depending how long you hold it down for seems to be key in mastering those sharp turns... but you might end up throwing your controller at the screen. Also the default camera I find is wayyyy to close to the back of the car. To get a better start in the race you have to press the acceleration just a little after 2 during the countdown sort of Mario Kart during acceleration.

I seem to be getting some static pop in my SS audio especially on Lunar 2 Eternal Blue. It's been years since I last played this but I don't remember getting that "pop" the last time I played this game.
It's a japanese white SS using a step down converter. Think I may need a new SS ?

couldn't see it on that list but; Shinrei Jusatsushi Taromaru
stupidly expensive too I bought this years ago on the ebay I was debating whether to get the japanese phat DS or this game and I chose this.
It's an ok game. not fantastic but certainly it's playable with tight controls. I sold it because it was one of those games that I was afraid to take out and play for fear of damaging the disc/manual and that was driving me nuts so I resold it on ebay and got more than what I paid for it originally..
also Lupin Sage no pyramid your mileage of how much you might enjoy this game more than me well... I'll just say you should be able to get it cheap. Good music tho, a poor man's version of tomb raider with lupin characters.
