I kinda wanted to see Dark Savior go against Grandia since they both have the 2d sprites on a 3d background thing going on. Even if DS would get smashed; at least I'd vote for it.
Panzer Dragoon Saga. Easily. Not even a close call. Despite not being able to really get into the previous titles, Saga is easily one of the best games I've ever played in my life.
I guess I never gave SF3 a solid chance since the first fight outside the city I lost several times.
Grandia 1 I played a couple dozen hours of before quitting. I loved Grandia 2 and due to its reputation I figured Grandia 1 would get better eventually... but the whole thing felt really generic and bland. I didn't like the characters and the plot just seemed kinda lazy.

I could go on and on and on... I've been entering fighting games tournaments since i was 19 (i'm 27 now), i've met hundreds of players, travelled abroad just to enter in tournaments and only a tiny little fraction played Virtua Fighter competitively due to its complexity. [/quote] Cool! I'll buy what you're saying for a dollar. I loved the training modes in VF4 evo and VF5, those games are pretty deep and VF has the reputation it does for a reason. Sidebar random question. My buddy used to play Brad in vanilla VF5 and he had that stupid, annoying quick block breaking move. I always played Shun Di, how was I supposed to defend against that bs?

I'm actually surprised that Virtua Fighter 2 came out the least favourable. You learn something new everyday. Only 15 votes anyway. Either way, Fighting Vipers is much more of a casual fighting game. It's understandable it comes out on top on these kind of poles ^ Yeah, true. Insofar. I love me some VF4 Evo and VF5, and I -want- to like Virtua Fighter 2. I know the combos, but there's something about it. I guess it feels kinda slow and floaty? While Fighter Vipers feels quick and satisfying? I'm far from being "into" fighters, but I've spent my fair share of time with them on Saturn.

SOR2 soundtrack is definitely better. In any event, it's Die Hard Arcade. EZ PZ. Die Hard Arcade really stuck out for me. I'm not big on fighters, but I spent some time on that title.

I think NiGHTS vs Panzer Dragoon Zwei would be better along with Dragon Force vs Shining Force 3. Other than that, great polls!
Not much I can say about these games. From the 20 minutes I played of each title I'd hand it to Albert Odyssey, hardly enough for me to go off of to give my opinion on. Shining the Holy Ark felt like a dungeon crawler and stika's review of MKR says it all for me.

Galactic Attack gives you the option to turn the camera and controller in such a way as to make the game play as a horizontal shooter, which is soooo super awkward. I don't know why, can't explain it, but it is.
With that said, I have no problem putting the two up against each other.

I'm not voting since I've never played Souky, but I would be voting for Battle Garegga.
While Radiant Silvergun is certainly unique and noteworthy, it feels so overrated to me. It's always been a super expensive title on the secondhand market and when I finally had the chance to play it, it didn't live up to the hype. It was certainly entertaining and engaging the first playthrough, but it didn't grab me like Ikaruga or other shmups have. Don't you get infinite lives in that game, too?

Dark Savior. No question about it. The puzzles were ridiculously annoying. Anyone remember the mine cart level? It was so cheap. They'd have the camera pointed in such a way you wouldn't be able to react to the jumps. As I've said before, I'm a sucker for 2d sprite on a 3d background, along with bright colors, which this game nailed. Oh, and the hair. Look at that fine mullet. Even if it was released in the 90's this is pure 1980's styled futurism. I also absolutely loved the soundtrack. You know, I don't know if you can call it a good game. I typically say Dark Savior is a guilty pleasure, or point to it, to show I have bad taste in games from time to time, but I certainly have a soft spot for it.

The fighters I played the most were Fighters Megamix and Virtual On. With that said, even if it were Megamix vs VO, I'd still pick VO.
The game was just super unique with a lot of different mechanics.

Great question. Galactic Attack just due to my personal bias of growing up with the game. Setting the TV on its side is a fond memory of mine. I also love the music and the narrative.

Oh, how about the guy in the OP? He got lightguns working without much in the way of R&D!
Sony, hire this man!

Follow up to the above, a friend hosted a Halloween party a few years back. I brought a wii with 2 gun attachments for the remotes and the great house of the dead game and hooked it up to a projector. People were playing it all night. It was really popular. There just isn't a console out there right now to accommodate these games Yeah, people would absolutely love it. Even though it was the early-mid 2000's, my friends loved Saturn for Virtua Cop and would ask to play it. Lightguns are huge hits at parties. Not only parties though, can you believe how many Cabela's Big Game Hunter games there are out there? It's like Madden for hunters and if they were able to hold a long gun and aim down the sights it would sell another million copies. Hunters could teach their children gun safety and start them young before they can hold a 5-10 pound shotgun/rifle. And that's probably why the media would flip a shit over it. I think people are overestimating the price a modern lightgun would cost. When Red Steel 2/Skyward Sword came out, it came with the the Wiimote plus and the Wiimote plus attachment and I don't believe it was more than 60-80 dollars. Perhaps I'm oversimplifying, but a lightgun that was just a camera and a few buttons wouldn't be as expensive as a Wiimote plus, hardware-wise. It would be a bit sophisticated software-wise, but MS already has the Kinect software to work off of. The R&D is basically done there.

Of course I don't understand your point. You're arguing against a strawman. I never said the government would stop lightgun games from being made. I haven't edit any of my posts, if I said something like that quote me and prove me wrong. This was my original statement, Again, you're a really smart guy and I come to this forum because of smart people like you and others who know far more about the nitty-gritty on gaming than I do. With that said, when you blatantly take me out of context and argue against strawmen, it's tough for me to believe an intelligent man such as yourself is being genuine. Perhaps you are just mistaken...
