Yeah, I can imagine. I first played TR2 when it came out so I can't remember. I have no intention of replaying it, as I fear I will ed up despising it as much as TR.
I'd rather let it lie in the pit of nostalgia, never to be brought back up.

Yeah. I remember enjoying TR2 a lot as a kid, but that could be nostalgia. I'm pretty sure I completed it too, so it couldn't have been as infuriating as this one. With the first, most of my focus is on trying to refrain from ripping the cd out of the console and flinging it out of the window.
I really need to play NiGHTS. I have only ever played the demo on the 360 and didn't really 'get' it. I think my best best is to grab the full game on a proper console (ie, the Saturn) and dive straight in. At the moment it's not a priority, but I defo wanna get as it's pretty iconic as a Saturn game.

Well I've beaten DHA a bunch of times. I wanna start speedrunning Hardcore mode. I only have three more levels left in TR so I wanna grin and bear it for a little longer before I probably never touch it again!

I've just started playing Resident Evil on the Saturn. Never played the original, only the Gamecube REmake and the first 5 minutes of the godawful DS port. I started it because Tomb Raider was starting to sour my Saturn experience. Anyway, RE Saturn is pretty great. It's so different to the Remake and it's sorta throwing me off. In a good way. I love the absolutely dreadful voice acting, and it's kinda refreshing having the puzzles and route different to what I'm used to. The only thing I truly miss is the quick turn. Already at Yawn. I hope that I can get both this and TR done by the weekend so I can start playing DHA.

I'm not necessarily going to chase the WR. I think sub 15 will be a decent time. The WR is 14 mins or so, so being around that is fine. The SR community I am part of for GoldenEye and Perfect Dark has really fierce and active competition, so I'm used to not having the WR for most of my times. Having a good time will be good enough! Claiming to have a 13:05 means nothing unless he has the proof, so the WR is around the 14 and a half minute mark

Nice, thanks for that! Just looking at the final boss has impressed me. That grabbing exploit could be really useful. Might try and run this game and attempt to get sub 15.
DHA is excellent. Even though it's a short game, it's loads of fun.

Hey guys, I'm back! Not been on because I have been working on a Pokemon Romhack and not really been playing any games. I still have Tomb Raider to finish, but every time I go back to it, the pure obnoxiousness of the game makes me get irritated and so I abandon it again. Screw that game. Anyway, last night I plugged in Die Hard Arcade as I was absolutely hammered and ended up recording my playthrough. I'll probably upload it later so you can see what I did, although it wasn't great because of my state Anyway, my time seemed pretty reasonable considering (24 mins) so I want to try and get it as low as I can. I don't think most of the enemies will be a problem, but there are two bosses (three, technically) that I tend to have problems with. 1) The first boss I have issue with is the American Football dude you fight after the fountain section. I tend to start by throwing the chairs at him and then spam double kick. This isn't very reliable though as he tends to block it, and then kick my ass during the cool-down for the move. 2) The final boss in the game is a nightmare. I could do with some advice for both phases. The first phase isn't so bad, although I do still die a couple of times on him. The second time you fight him though on the roof is a nightmare. I die so much. It seems like I need to just keep trying and then hope I get some damage in, eventually whittling down his health. His attacks do major damage though, so I often die a couple of times between hits! Any strats for these guys? Also, if you have any general strategies then feel free to share. I welcome any more advice that may help! Personally I try and get arrests when I can, although I try to be extra cautious as enemies seem to grab ME first and mess up my attempt. Also the double kick is just awesome.

Have you played Command and Conquer 3: Red Alert? That's got some Tim Curry FMV goodness. "I will go to the one place that has not been tainted by capitalism....... SPAAAAAAAAACE!" Yeah, Tim Curry is ace. Not heard of Frankenstein though. Is it decent enough? Tim Curry FMV on the Saturn sounds like the best game that has ever been made ever.

Sounds interesting. Thanks for that. Mischief Makers took a while to click, so this may end up being the same. I played that game for so long thinking 'I don't understand any of this', but later it became one of my favourite N64 games. I may grab it. Could be a good first Japanese purchase

There are surprisingly few reviews. There's one Saturn review and the others are for the PS version, which was changed a lot in localisation (apparently) and is also in English, so wouldn't cover some of the points. I have had a look at the English tutorial section from the Playstation version, and it looks pretty complicated with a lot to remember. Hopefully it has the same tutorial area and maybe I can watch the English video and copy until I remember everything It's a very pretty game though, perhaps one of the best looking 2D games I've seen. Perhaps Vampire Savior is a little better, but I'll have to withhold judgement until I actually see both on screen. YT is hardly reliable for judging quality.

My score today: Wanted to grab a ton more DC and Saturn games but didn't have the cash. Dqmn, I'm jealous. I've been after an English copy of D for a reasonable price for a while now. Enjoy your haul!

Bought an AR cartridge from him and it arrived today. Works perfectly and is sat snugly within my console as I write. Postage was a little less than he expected, and he sent me the difference back unprompted (I wasn't bothered, but it was nice of him to do so) Thanks a lot!

Well, this post has two parts to it really. The first is to query whether this seems legit. It looks different to other auctions I have seen, so not sure if this is just something the guy has knocked together or something. I know very little about Japanese games, so excuse my lack of knowledge. I wanna grab a Japanese game and Castlevania is a tad too expensive at the moment, so this seems like a good option because Treasure has some decent games. www.ebay.es/itm/SILHOUETTE-MIRAGE-SEGA-SATURN-NTSC-JAPAN-COMPLETO-EN-MUY-BUEN-ESTADO-/281851235966?hash=item419fa48e7e:g:MXsAAOSw~bFWPzw7The second part is just to query how the game is. Is it a decent game? I have looked into the mechanics and I don't really get it. It seems as if one direction you take off health, and the other takes off will to fight. Surely it would make more sense to go straight for the kill and constantly stick to that direction? And that leads me to my next concern. Treasure games are notorious for having interesting mechanics. How hard is it to pick up, with the game being in Japanese? It took me ages to 'get' Mischief Makers without a manual, and that game is in English! Any feedback on it would be great! Thanks!
