I assume that's a joke. I can't really tell if you are being serious or not. Shinobi isn't that hard. Stage 4 gave me some grief because I didn't know how to get past some dude or other, but the game isn't so bad. It has some hard parts, sure, but I don't think it's any harder than most Shinobi games. Also Bug and Shinobi are very different games. I don't think comparing the difficulty is very fair. I'm very good in some games and terrible in others. Being good in one type of game doesn't automatically make you a god of all games. Shinobi X wasn't that hard. I had issues with the difficulty levels in Bug 1 and II and Three Dirty Dwarves and it a shame as I wanted to play and enjoy all the levels in those games, but they were just too hard. Same goes for Mr Bones but didn't like that game anyway

Bug Too also had a bunch of transparent effects, like the ghost on Weevil Dead. It used sprite-on-sprite transparency, which was rarely used on Saturn titles, plus VDP2 overlays for a global fog effect. The transparent VDP2 mist in Bug II is the best example of such an effect I saw on a 32Bit system. Loved the speech of when you got caught by that transparent ghost and it would shot out "Losser" also enjoyed the Monty Python/Manic Minner death sequence (the big foot). The game was so full of neat and clever little touches

I have Bug! 2 as well. An equally solid title. Haven't played it in over a year but I remember it having different playable characters, but I never got far enough to see how it effects gameplay I think the different characters are just cosmetic. Bug Too had awesome music by the way. The first game already had that funky bebop chiptune thing going on, the sequel then does movie score parodies in a similar style and in CD Audio. The Weevil Dead theme has a real Danny Elfman vibe to it. Agreed. It was a top quality production in almost every regard . The game engine was much improved with some of the levels looking quite stunning also appreciated how each level was themed off various films . Music was also brilliant and the game was full of neat touches. Just a shame it was so hard to play and again there weren't enough checkpoints.

Bug could and should have been amazing. The 'Bug'testers must have been amazing at SEGA America at the time given how hard most of their games were at the time. The game needed more checkpoints and the ability to save at each checkpoint. That would have made it a top platformer (for the time) IMO

Touring Cars and Manx TT also support Ghost replays/saves to the Memory cart

Also, it wasn't just SEGA racers that saves Replays. Fighting Vipers used the memory cart to save Replays too. I'm gonna check out this function on Fighting Vipers, that's pretty cool. I wonder if Last Bronx does the same. . Last Bronx didn't sadly, nor did Fighters Megamix

Thanks for this. I'm definitely gonna grab a brand new memory cart and retry it. My official memory cart was never the most stable back in the day, I usually had to take it out and re apply it a few times to get it to work. Probably why my ghost data save never registered. A nice simple tip is before you play Rally. Just turn the Saturn on and go to the memory screen, to make sure the Back Up memory is showing and working fine

Cheers for clearing that up MegaCd! Question: Does the Official Cart remove the need of the CR2032 watch battery for the internal storage? I believe I've tried using my AR 4in1 without the battery in the hopes that resetting the console would keep the save data in the ram to then transfer but I don't remember it working. No you still need the CR2032 battery for system storage and time keeping functions

I took the picture myself. I don't own the floppy. The Green Box simply comes up when you look to copy memory from the Cart to the Saturn, or from the Saturn to the Cart . Daytona USA CE also saves ghost data to the cart. But how were you able to save the ghost data to the cartridge if it's too big to sit in the internal memory and there is no option to save or load data in game? Can you walk me through your method? Sorry for all the questions but I'm now considering re-buying an official memory cart, just want to be sure I won't be wasting my money. If this was possible on an unmodded Saturn then my mind is blown as I'm pretty sure I tried all methods at the time. Must be old age. No worries, glad to help. You simply play the game with the Official backup memory cart in your Saturn and games like Daytona USA CE and Sega Rally will automatically save the ghost files and replays to the Cart. You need do nothing other than having the SEGA Back Up memory cart inthe Saturn

Yes,I do have the official memory cart (Black Pal Model) and the Replay Ghost data takes up 977 blocks (pictured)There are videos on YouTube already of users uploading their replays But the green box above the blue box in that picture indicates they have used the Floppy Disk Drive. So basically they transferred the Ghost data memory from the Floppy onto the Catridge which of course you can do. But without the Floppy Disk, can it be achieved directly from the system memory to cartridge? I took the picture myself. I don't own the floppy. The Green Box simply comes up when you look to copy memory from the Cart to the Saturn, or from the Saturn to the Cart . Daytona USA CE also saves ghost data to the cart.

Yes its saves your ghost/replay data to the Cart. Can we confirm this once and for all? Do you own the official cart and could provide a basic video? Not to derail the thread but I'm getting annoyed that users are posting their uncertain opinions, then I'll chime in with my uncertain opinion and then receive a reply quoting me, telling me flat out I am incorrect. I've heard that the official Saturn backup cartridge does save ghost data but unofficial carts like Action Replay 4 in 1 will not. Cannot confirm this. Perhaps someone with the official cartridge can? Yes its saves your ghost/replay data to the Cart.

Just wondering if there is a list of optimised PAL games that will run correctly (even if faster) on a NTSC system? For example, I played Exhumed on a NTSC system and the display meters/items at the bottom partly disappeared off the screen, so I would say that wouldn't work. With games like Wipeout 2097 not having a US release, I hope the PAL version would work OK... I never had any issues with Exhumed on my NTSC Saturn other than the intro's speech no being played back correctly
